My husband and I stayed here one night. We understood it to be a backpackers as we have stayed in many in the past but at $150 a night thought it quite steep for the pretty average room. The lady that checked us in was very nice, we didn't really see any other staff. There is a note on the...

So sorry to hear of your average experience, and thanks for the constructive criticism. Yes, our prices do go up over Christmas/New Years' as do those of most places in New Zealand. Our suggestion to guests is that, if they feel the prices for our double rooms are too high, there is always the cheaper option of a dorm bed.

Needed a place to rest our heads. Owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were simple, but comfortable. Large community kitchen with everything you may need. Great place to meet others and share stories.

A really good place to start your vacation in New Zealand. 1 hour drive from Queenstone and couple minutes from Wanaka. Just beautiful view around the place. And the lodge? Just amazing. Warm hospitality from Rolly and Karen. Felt like at home immediately. It's was an amazing experience for me.

Roland and Karen were great hosts, Laura and staff were very friendly and hospitable. The bedroom, kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, way cleaner than most backpackers/lodges in NZ. The lodge is in the central of Albert Town, about 5km from Wanaka city. If you'd want to be close to the nature, this is the perfect spot. It's within walking...

We had a group of 26 stay at the Zulu Lodge and we were taken care of beautifully. The facilities are well maintained and great for a large group. We highly recommend it as a place to stay with teenagers and young people.

We stayed here for one night and it was very enjoyable. Stephanie the host- was so friendly.I rang to inform her that we would be late checking in and she said it was no problem that she would leave a note outside for us on where to find our room. It was great! Kitchen is fantastic. Very well set up...

Old and dirty place. The 4-person room is tiny, the beds are very small, the carpet is old and the whole room smells like feet. Stay in YHA Wanaka instead. It's 100 times better than Albert Town Lodge and the room in YHA comes with your own bathroom and toilet.
