Mateka Lodge in Twizel is a very nice B&B with a fantastic view towards Mount Cook and other high mountains. The remises are excellent with nice, convenient rooms with terraces. The host and hostess are really nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good and complemantory wine and cakes were served in the afternoon.

Fantastic welcome, beautiful view from the bedroom, very quiet and peaceful and delicious breakfast. We were battered by the wind on our bike ride, what a relief to end the day in this stunning B and B!

Jo and Peter could not be more welcoming. Helpful and informative, delightful hosts. Jo's cooking is great - lots of cookies and cake for guests. The complimentary drink each night was a treat. Exudes class. The only problem we encountered was that we were only staying one night. Peter and Jo manage to balance five star service with a relaxed informal style. Delightful setting overlooking a duck pond with the distant mountains as a backdrop. Very tastefully furnished with a choice of sitting rooms to relax in. Bedrooms are spacious with ample storage...
