Stayed here on route from Queenstown to Greymouth, and to see Moutn Cook. Pros: great chalets - look dated front the outside, but inside is spacious, clean, modern, well equipped, quiet, comfy and so on. Really can't fault our stay here. There was a pay per use laundry too, as well as bbq and outside seating area. Mount Cook is...

We intended staying at Twizel just overnight on our way back to Christchurch and this wasn't our first choice place (which was full). However the welcome we got from the owners was friendly and welcoming and we had an A frame chalet facing Mount Cook with a great view. It was clean warm and well equipped and we decided to...

This was a really cute chalet with timber ceilings that added to the charm. We got the one bedroom unit and it was very comfortable. Had full kitchen facilities and a nice lounge suite. The unit had terrible lighting especially if you were in the kitchen, the taps were really old fashioned and hard to regulate the shower. This will be...

Basically, nothing wrong with the A frame self contained cottages, if you don't mind being stuck in a distant time warp away from current common standards. It is clean, and it all works, but it is so yesteryears. The piddley shower pressure (un)controlled by a "one knob" Felton Mix is at least 2 generations old (you can only control temperature,...

Booked this place entirely based from reviews as well. We just basically wanted a midway stop for our trip to Queenstown from Christchurch. Travelling as a family of five (two kids and my mom), I must say we hit a jackpot when we find this place. The place is self contained with a pretty much basic I should say but...

Twizel is a very small town, where u can easily locate the Mountain chalet Motels. the motel is built by several standing wooden chalets. the inside space is quite enough, also very clean and comfortable. u can park your cars just in front of the chalet door. there's no food supplied in this motel, but each chalet has its own...

It is always difficult to find accommodation that will allow pets. We have a German Shepherd who is very well behaved but she is part of the family and we take her with us on our getaways. The Mountain Chalet Motel is a wonderful place to rest and relax. There are lovely walks nearby and the scenery will take your...

we booked 2 nights here without really researching about it and were thrilled with our decision. The owners are really friendly people, pleasant to talk to and happy to point you in the right direction for your days activities. we had a 1 bedroom chalet complete with kitchen area and ensuite bathroom. The chalet is a lovely, welcoming, comfortable and...

After booking here for a stopover on our way to Queenstown, I read a few reviews (did things the wrong way round!!) and got a little nervous. But then we thought its only 1 night, and its only cheap. The day we were due to arrive in Twizel, our trepidation grew, particularly after we had spent a night at an...

Stayed for a couple of nights in August, wasn't expecting anything too fantastic from our research on Twizel but it wasn't too bad. The buildings themselves were better than expected, newer than they look in photos and clean and tidy, plenty of room inside. Wi Fi was ok as well. Being in such a cold area it would have been...
