Ofcourse not being an exclusive hotel it is the location of it what counts!!! Right next to to main entrance for the in-town marina it could happen that you lay in bed, look outside and see the high part of sailing masts pass your window. So nice! Also very near to ferry to/from Terschelling and Vlieland. Breakfast ok.

We spent one night here before taking the boat to Vlieland the following day. This gave us a chance to visit Harlingen. Location is perfect in case you are taking the ferry from here, since it is a few steps from the terminal. The room was fairly spacious and even though the bathroom was not massive it design and clean...

My parents came to this hotel in their hometown for many decades as their home base to do all their travels in the area. My sister and I revisited our roots and felt at home and well cared for. We used the hotel because it also had a great location to walk to the ferry to get to the Islands,...

Location can't be beat. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Don't understand prior review saying one should avoid .... Oh we'll, we had completely good experience. We ate at Restuarnt twice and it was superb.... As good as any other place in Harlingen ..... Would very much recommend.

Definetly one of the worst experience of my travelling life. Dirty carpet, worn-out beeding, approximate piping in the bathroom that almost scalded my son and the finish the picture, unexisting service. In the morning, as we asked for our bill, the tenant didn't bother to ask if we liked our stay ... If you are searching for accomodation on your...

Upon arrival, the reception was warm, the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, this was gone in the morning, during breakfast. The service was stand-offish, without any warmth and unfriendly. The room was nice, with a beautiful view, facing the old fishing port at sun set.

We started looking for a hotel in Alkmaar. Couldn't find any! Trued a Tukan nearby - no room. At last we found the Zeezicht (Seaview, we think) and there was a room available. And a parking place! We were very impressed with the location, right in the harbour with trawlers, yachts and ferries. Very pictoresque. Our room had a window...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Restaurant Zeezicht is situated at the old inland area in Harlingen just across from the Ferry point where the boats to Vlieland and Terschelling depart. The hotel has the inland and the sea at one side and on the other side, it is situated beside the historical Elfsteden (11 cities) town of Harlingen. Harlingen is an old city of commerce that did very well during the golden age. This is noticeable by the number of beautiful old homes to be found within the city. Since June 2009, the Wadden Sea became an UNESCO World Heritage Site and is equated with famous nature reserves such as Yellowstone Park in the United States and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. On the roof of the Hotel Restaurant Zeezicht are solar panels thus all the electricity used in our business comes from a natural source so we try to contribute to the environment as much as possible. Hotel Zeezicht was opened in 1905 and served as a guesthouse for the many ships’ crews that passed through Harlingen Haven. In 1983 the Hotel Zeezicht and Restaurant expanded by joining with the adjacent monumental building “The Sea Castle” of Harlingen. The “Sea Castle” has a long history in Harlingen and played an important role in the development of the city. During the golden age a notable society club called “Seeburgh” was established at “The Sea Castle”. “The Sea Castle” was only accessible to dignitaries and was inspected by a strict high commission. The society discussed important decisions concerning Harlingen. Nowadays, everyone is welcome at “Hotel Restaurant Zeezicht.” ... more   less
