Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

My second visit at Reine Rorbuer still left me impressive feel for its superb location with stunning view of fjord, mountains, and fishing village of Reine in Lofoten. Room is spacious in the red rorbuer or fishing house with sufficient facilities. Yet the best part to stay here is the view. You just simply walk out of your room here and here you are, one of the most stunning places in Lofoten, Norway, or even on earth.

A most beautiful hotel and the location on Nordfjord is outstanding. And located just a few minutes walk from an aerial tramway that gives you breath taking views of the fjord and surrounding countryside. We loved the pool and spa as well. Wonderful staff and great food. One complaint: Internet speeds were beyond slow. First World problem I know but photography and video play and important part in our vacations and the slow speeds made it almost impossible to edit/store/upload images and video clips. But all that aside, highly recommend! I’m attaching pictures to give you a sense of the beauty of the location. Pics by the way, I had to wait until we leaved to share!

Lovely, cosy cabin, clean and well appointed. Great views. Convenient for local shop, restaurants and view points. Good sized bathroom, fabulous shower! Quiet spot. Staff courteous and helpful. Space for parking one car. Recommend a trip to the visitor centre.

Reine is probably one of the most beautiful places on earth :-) and we had a lovely time on Lofoten islands based at this cabins. Very cosy cabins with everything you need. Great view from the place and fantastic breakfast (it was one of the best!). You can take bus to different places and you can also walk from here to the mountain of Reinebringen. Very friendly staff!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bath deluxe seaview rorbuer for 4 nights. The cabin was great - wonderful view, comfortable beds, not luxury, but clean and comfy. There is no housekeeping, but the reception desk was willing to swap towels or refill shampoo containers. The area is beautiful and charming. The reason I took 2 stars away is the distraction of the mega tour buses that come down to the village center one after the other from about 10am to 4pm. It really was a nuisance and a distraction to the area. We would be sitting out on our waterfront deck and have dozens of bus tourists taking photos of us. I really can't believe the hotel or the village of Reine lets these buses come down to the village center. A better solution is to have a parking area for tour buses up at the top of the road before coming into Reine. I also can't believe the islands of Lofoten allow them to drive at top speeds on their narrow twisty and sometimes one lane roads, but that's another issue. Regardless, the rorbuer cabins were great, and the staff were excellent. Lots to do in the area if you like hiking, water activities and scenery.

Booked a 1 bedroom deluxe cabin w/sea view, no kitchen. What we got was actually a room that was part of a small building(like a town house row). Not really a problem so all ok. However there was a very fishy smell in the room that despite leaving the windows and doors open for a few hours, did not go away. We put it up to the drying cod that is prevalent everywhere in the area during early June. Following morning, still bad odour - only inside - not outside. After investigating, they found dead fish below the room. Without any prompting, they immediately transferred us to a 2 bedroom cottage with a better view, so kudos to them. There are a few things that need to be addressed. - we stayed there for 4 nights and to our surprise, they did not have daily room service. We were never told about this so had to sleep on the same sheets and use same towels. Every other day would have been acceptable. - self serve laundry room had 4 machines but the room, sink and the machines were not clean to say the least. - outside areas were unkempt, with weeds and grass growing uncut. But this seems to be common throughout the area. - cod drying racks, while a feature of the area, didn’t have to be literally within 50 feet of the rooms/cottages. Certainly by choosing to stay in a Rorbuer, you want the authentic feel but that doesn’t mean cleanliness should be compromised.

Very bad experience, wish i have chosen different acommodation. Left two days earlier than i should have stayed. Staff is only looking to take money as the most important thing in their life, service quality and friendliness is zero. Never again

We stayed at a 1-bedroom deluxe cabin with sea view. The cabin was well-appointed and the view was out of this world. The entire location is so nice, and the atmosphere relxaed and enchanting, as befits the village. Highly recommended. We were visiting the place off-season which was also a big plus for us, where we had the place almost entirely to ourselves.

If you’re travelling through Lofoten, this place is an absolute must. The cabins are lovely, the staff is lovely, breakfast is great, and it really let’s you experience Norway in the most authentic way( I am norwegian by the way:)). Though regular hotels are comfertable, and maybe seem like the more luxurios choice, the experience of this place is 10x better. The cabins are just as comfertable and «luxurious” as a regular hotel-room, and the breakfast just as good. I truly mean it when I say this has been one of the , if not the, best experience I have had at an accommodation. 10/10!!!🥰

We had a purpose built rorbu, which may not be to everyone's liking but it did mean that it was modern, well-designed and comfortable. We had a large balcony with a lovely view over the harbour but I think the position may depend on what you pay. Well equipped but no television. Superb breakfast.
