We stayed at the Ashbrook for just one night to attend a wedding in neighbouring Abbeyleix. The welcome was immediate and friendly. We were brought through a series of small stairs cases to our room. It was quite traditional in style, but spacious and comfortable. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed a delicious full Irish. Only one downside...taxis are...

To start, Ashbrook Arms is an absolutely beautiful property, with loads of potential. It is situated overlooking the beautiful River Erkina, with views of the hills straddling the Laois/Kilkenny border to the South. Unfortunately, the traveler is left to his own devices regarding the historical context of the old stone bridge (now twinned for modern traffic), the names of the...

We attended a Wedding on Saturday in Castle Durrow and booked into this Hotel. We arrived a little early but were greeted and shown to our room by a very friendly lady. The room was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. There is also a lovely bar across the road called Bobs Bar definitely worth a visit. Next morning we had...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for just the one night as we were attending a wedding in Castle Durrow (very easy walk away). Our room was spacious and warm, decent sized bathroom and plenty of towels. Incredibly comfortable bed! Breakfast was filling and served until 11. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Ashbrook...

We had booked this hotel for one night as we were invited to a wedding nearby. Church was starting at 1 pm so I had requested if there was any way for us to get changed somewhere - which was kindly accepted by the proprietor via email. However, when we arrived at 11.40 am that morning, to our pleasant surprise...

We recently attended a wedding in Castle Durrow and stayed here. The guesthouse is located a short walk to the castle. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. Although our stay was short, it was very enjoyable.

Love this place. Olde worlde setting. This was an old coach house for weary travellers in by gone time which has been lovingly restored. Free parking. Staff most attentive. Very knowledge around the menu, ingredients etc. Food just fabulous. Good variety. Beef, fish, chicken, lamb and veggie. Pecan pie to die for!!! Plenty of it!!! Will be back.

Our stay was our first night in Ireland; what a welcome! The family who run this hotel could not have been more helpful, from organising our bags to catering. Our room was on the upper floor and although it faced the road we were not disturbed by the traffic. The room was bright and airy, tastefully furnished and had a...
