this hotel is well located in Matagalpa, allowing visitors to explore the town on foot from the hotel. One can find many restaurants and stores in the vicinity. The staff was kind and the room was quiet, but it could have used a bit more effort in cleaning. We spent two nights at El Castillo and really enjoyed the terrasse...

Place is not at all as advertised. Wifi didn't reach room, there was no hot water, room initially had no fan. Additionally, views are not nearly as nice as in photos, there is a construction site directly in front of the hotel. Overall, very bad value for high price. The same quality, or better can be found at other hotels...

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is worth the money ( $22 for a room without balcony) because it includes breakfast and private bathroom. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the view on the city is nice.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. The staff was friendly, there was a beautiful view, and the location was great. The only issues I found were that the hotel staff did not speak English, as advertised, and the toilet/sink liked to leak on the floor in my room. So stepping into that in the morning with socks was never fun....

El Castillo is located in walking distance of the square, has on street parking, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was included and made to order. Staff is helpful and lovely. Definitely a great value.

We enjoyed one night in hotel el Castillo. Our room was clean, had a huge window, a nice balcony with a beautiful view. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. They even adapted the breakfast for our vegan lifestyle. The only negative thing I can think of is the bad smell that emerges from the shower. There's a little tile...

Small hotel on two floors and friendly terasses to meet fellow travelers. Inexpensive. Ask for a room with a balcony. Good breeze and cleanish rooms. You cannot cook in their kitchen but there are quite a few good restaurants nearby. Well located. Breakfast is extra cost and not worth it. Go to the grand cafe nearby. Would recommend it.

We booked via booking.com. They moved us in room no 7, immediately right when you enter the building. This room is situated literally next to the street. Unbelievably loud until approx 11 pm. Traffic starts again around 5 am. Room smelly, but spacious. Loads of ants. Next day we asked to change the room. We were told that this is...
