We stopped over here for a night before traveling to Chang the next day. Pool was brilliant, service was excellent and the king room was divine. The family that run it could not do enough for you, great hosts. Not a great deal else there so good news that the food was excellent and great value. For us to break up the journey with a long one it was perfect and I would do it again in the blink of an eye!

I, My #1 most favorite daughter, and her boyfriend arrived at the Trat Bus Terminal at Sunset following a full day of bus travel from SihanoukvilleCAMBODIA. We parted company here—they out to the islands, me to this unexpectedly fantastic hostel. I didn’t follow their specific directions about obtaining transit to it, and ended up with a tuk-tuk driver who spent way too long looking for it (at least two hours). Even though I arrived late, I had emailed/texted my delay, as well as menu choices, and it was waiting for me. Very impressive! I had reserved a bunk in the 6-person mixed dorm, but had it all to myself because I was the only hosteller present. Just as well; I had postcards to write and needed a decent night of sleep, too. Morning came early, and I was excited about pedaling their fat-tyre (26 x 4) upright—a first for me! It is the most perfect bicycle to have I that rustic environment! Even though I was the only guest for the night in a 6-bunk dorm, I noted how impeccably clean the room, WC, and grounds were. Brekkie was pre-ordered, too, and it was a delicious Western-style with luscious native fruit on the side. Perhaps the most delectable dish was NOT on the menu, but was easily filled because Coconuts are EVERYWHERE. Specifically, since my arrival in SE Asia a few weeks ago, I’ve become addicted to fresh coconut (juice) where the top is lopped of .and a straw inserted for the nectar of the gods. Even better, I would scoop out the meat inside fir a very nice appetizer. Just remember to ask in advance for it. The fat-tire bike was just one of the appealing features; there is so a pool table & flat-screen monitor in the commons. Another kind of pool—the wet kind—was GREAT! After my early morning pedaling, it was SO relaxing to immerse my body in the cool clear water. My flight from Trat Airport to Bangkok was departing at (13:10), and because this wonderful hostel is so close, the driver (also pre-arranged) & I didn’t leave until (11:30); made it in plenty of time to complete the ticketing from my cell/phone (hard copy boarding pass & my passport were required). I know that reversing the direction would be similarly easy. I’ve stayed in hostels all around the World; this is one if the finest rural locations I’ve ever known, and certainly give it my hearty “Wheel of Approval!”
