Very nice oasis of calm and peace in the middle of Trat. Clean rooms with AC. Nice people taking care. All you need for a stay. Just have Nescaffe for breakfast. But if a stay is all you need, then you are good at this place

Small little hotel in the charming center of Trat. The hotel is in a quiet location but still in walking distance to restaurants and the market. Nice interior decoration. Small bathroom but fully adequate for a short stay. The bed a bit too firm for me. Good speed on internet. Outstanding and friendly service

Arriving at 101 Hotel was not a problem. The lady who greeted us on arrival was friendly. Spoke enough English to understand each other. However, the passport is requested for a copy, we did not do this because Dutch people are strictly prohibited from having their passport copied. Make sure you always have your own copy with your BSN shielded. The rooms are very basic and the bathroom looks very neat. No wardrobe or anything else present. Just a rack. Room had no view, there was a tree almost tight against the window. Very strange. They offer "airport service". Which is normally free, otherwise it shouldn't be called a service. Apparently it was in mini letters on their website that you had to be paid for it. Upon inquiry, it turned out to cost 500ThB per person, but it was a shared minibus with 6 to 8 people. Outrageously expensive. Go to the daily market, there are many SongTaews and they will take you safely to the airport for 400ThB per Songtaew. Of course we gave the driver a big tip. All in all disappointing experience.

Response from Trat101Hotel, Manager at Trat 101 Hotel
Responded 18 Mar 2020
This review is related to the review on Booking.com on 9th March 2020 when a gentleman requested a free airport shuttle service. We eagerly run this hotel with the lowest price possible. We sincerely say that all transfer service is not included or hidden in the hotel rate. If we include the airport transfer into the hotel rate, the night rate to everyone else will be higher. It would be unfair for other guests who do not use this service but have to pay it. Also, prices of all transfer services shown at any media is exactly the same prices shown at transfer companies. Every guests can double check prices on internet or directly with transfer companies while using it. We would like to take this opportunity to explain all information to every readers in TripAdvisor community. Below are our response to the gentleman on the Booking.com Dear valued guest: Thank you for your comment. Please understand that we provide our guests all transfer information that most of travelers are preferred and select. In order for everyone to be able to select their best options that match to their preference, we are working closely with transportation network. Also, guest feedback & reviews are considered every time we update the list. After a guest selects an option, we will call, manage, and organize everything with selected companies for the most convenience to our guests. As you saw it clearly, we had informed on the website before you made a booking that the airport transfer by an air-conditioning van under the supervision of the airport has additional charge. It is 500 Baht per passenger. We also provided you, the transfer book since you arrived at the hotel. We did this to make sure that you had information and you were free to select any option or not to select any option at all. The price that you see is the price exactly a passenger pays to the company without any charge on top from us. You can also see this price clearly on a ticket and on a sign at the airport where its counter locates. On your case, based on your comment, you might confuse between 2 options as the same and only one option. Then, you went out and searching for a Songthaew by your own. The Songthaew is a local mini truck with 2 bench seats at the back with no air-conditioning. It is a difference option from an air-conditioning van which resulting in a difference price. We also have the Songthaew on the list with a recommended price. There are many Songthaew with lower price available in town, however, we do not recommend it because we cannot check drivers’ profiles or see a proof of inspection or any standard measurement that guarantee vehicle condition. Safety, reliability, good service, and arriving in time are among the top priority when we make a list. Because of carefully screening while updating the list, it is a valuable intellectual information that makes our service standing out among the rest. We have been living in town and always updating with community. Once there was an incident when a Songthaew in town had an engine failure at the middle of the 20-kilometer road heading to the airport. Because the airport is located in a mountain area, the road has forest on both side with few cars pass by. As a result, passengers, who were not our guests, missed their airplane and had to change their tickets. For our guests, there are 1-3 times per months that they contact us back to look for items that they might forget in vehicles. We have profiles of all drivers on the list which allow us to contact them in time to investigate and retrieve items back to guests. Again, we honestly accept a decision you made. We are sincerely saying that neither an airport transfer nor a sea transfer is a free service as per your request. We provide a free reservation service including talking to locals, verifying information, and organizing everything for our guests with no charge on top of each ticket. Guests only responsible for services they use directly with companies. We eagerly run this hotel with the lowest price possible which make the price of a shared van for 2 passengers higher than the cost of 1 night stay you paid to this hotel on a promotion period. If we include your airport transfer into our hotel rate, the rate to everyone else will be higher. It would be unfair to other guests who do not use this service but have to pay it for you. We hope you understand our fair price policy. We always make sure that everyone can enjoy this hotel with the lowest price possible and no hidden costs created by others. With warmest regards, Trat 101 Hotel

The owner, Kajit, is just amazing. He helped us to organise everything well, including the transportation from Bangkok to Trat, and sea transfer from Trat to Koh Kood, you won’t be worried about anything, just need to enjoy in town. After staying here, you will understand why everyone is appreciated his hospitality. For the hotel location, it is absolutely perfect, 7-Eleven is easily reached, you could go to noodle restaurant for breakfast, Day Market for Thai milk tea and Night Market for dinner (thanks for Katjit’s map). Room is clean and lovely, you shouldn’t miss it when you stay in Trat. Thank you Trat 101.

Bright clean room with lovely green outlook to a private garden. Fridge and aircon in room and tea coffee just outside. Location was great with just a short walk to Trat's bars and the food market. A great place to stay between the islands and the airport.
