Chez Mango is a relaxed place to escape from the city. The friendly owner is always happy to help or to talk. There's a big table in the garden where people can meet. It's a short walk in to the city.

I was lucky enough to find this place during my first travel in Laos. And what an amazing place. I've actually stayed in there a couple of years ago and the experience was so amazing I still remember it after months and months with great pleasure. Location is superb, loads of green and limestone hills, bungalow was gorgeous, cozy and...

Let me be clear about this, chez mango is basic, but a true flavor of loas that is fast disappearing, so if you want air con and TV go somewhere else or better still go home, I loved this place it's uzzing with charm, the lady of the house is a delight and never seem to be down. There is...

You get what you pay for - the small bungalows are cheap and very basic and most with a shared bathroom (that was clean). Nice garden to relax in, 10 minute walk to town so really not that far. The owner was nice but he was obviously not interested in the business side of his place, which meant the service...

Cons: No water pressure, rude owner, bad energy, nothing special, bathroom full of mosquitoes, hard bed Pros: quiet location, hammock on the porch He could care less if you stay with him or not and has no time for "silly questions"

I normally stay at another place in vangvieng when i come but this time I thought I would give this one a shot.... turns out it is on the other side of the river and nowhere close to town... therefore I had to pay each time I wanted to come into town and each time I returned.. for that price...

Owner was a nice Frenchman who spoke pretty good English. Gave us great tips on what to see/do/eat around the area. He had a passion for providing a real Laos experience...bungalows/mosquito nets. Quiet quaint area away from the chaos and American tv shows of VV. Since we were here in July the weather was a bit rough with only fan...

I just left the hospital after being bitten over 40 times from the bed bugs here, not to mention the mosquitos that got through the holes in the "mosquito net" I would chip in a few extra quid and get a real room near center that is bug free. The staff was nice at first until I woke up screaming...

I recommended this location for any average person who wants an average "hotel" nothing special, nothing too terrible. could use some mosquito work and perhaps some food, I was pretty hungry and there is NOTHING close by frugal travellers who dont mind a long walk will love this place if they dont eat lots or if they dont get bitten...
