Riverside Boutique Resort Vang Vieng has garnered high praise for its immaculate cleanliness, with numerous travelers describing the rooms as "spotlessly clean." The service at the hotel is frequently lauded for being attentive and warm, creating personalized experiences that guests appreciate. While the spa services are a hit, there are voices that suggest the food pricing may not reflect the value expected. The amenities, including the picturesque views, diverse breakfast options, and excellent pool and spa, receive consistent applause. The resort's atmosphere, with its elegant traditional decor and spacious, well-appointed rooms with stunning balconies, is also a highlight, although a few guests have noted some maintenance issues.

We stayed here for 4 nights and booked direct through their website. We picked a package that included a dinner on one evening. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are set in lush gardens overlooking a beautiful pool. Each grouping of rooms are designed after one of the Lao Ethic Groups. Our room was H after the Hmong. All the fabrics in the room were made of handmade hemp with an inlay Batik design.
The staff in the hotel are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The service level is very high. We have been travelling for 6 weeks and this has been the best breakfast with a super choice and fresh egg station alongside the buffet. Every night is happy hour for 2 hours with half price cocktails. The food in the restaurant is good with a lovely ambience in the bar and restaurant.
I would highly recommend this hotel, book direct on the website for the best deal.

We loved the location of riverside boutique resort, right on the river you could hear the hum of the longboats and watch river life pass you by. The rooms were beautifully decked out and the pool was the perfect location, with a view of the mountains on the horizon. Gorgeous lights lit up the trees at night and we had a massage in the pretty spa- sublime! Beside lounging by the pool our favourite spot was the restaurant which served excellent Laotian and international cuisine, and was our favourite buffet breakfast in Laos! And we want to give a special call out to the best waiter - Chai Ken- who was always smiling and attentive.

The hotel layout and grounds are perfect, with views over the river to the karst mountains encircling a lovely pool. The rooms are comfortable and large with balconies overlooking grounds and pool. Beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was also very good for dinner as well as breakfast. Happy hour from 5 pm was great out on the terrace, with great views albeit a bit noisy at sunset when all the motor boats return. The hotel also organises reasonably priced tours and private cars. We ordered one to Vientiane for 500,000 Kip and paid the driver, so he was getting all the money, instead of the hotel siphoning off money as elsewhere on our travels.
Service was very friendly and the spa also very reasonably priced for this quality of hotel. Highly recommend this hotel.

Riverside was the perfect place to stay in Vang Vieng and so close to Vientiane with the new highway. The rooms are spacious and clean with very comfortable beds, and the resort feels quiet and secluded despite being set right on the river bank with great views. The restaurant is worth visiting in its own right with a good range of Lao and international dishes, and serving a good breakfast overlooking the pool and river. We had a really nice long weekend there in January. Mathieu made us feel very welcome - thank you! We will definitely visit again soon

Rooms are decorated with traditional handicrafts from the various ethnic groups of Laos. All around one can notice that a great attentions to details was put in place. The rooms as well as the outside areas are clean and stylish. The service is of highest standards. Breakfast is amzing, the restaurant is also highly reccomanded. The bartenders are very skilled and the manager is always available.

Clean rooms, Amazing pool surrounded by the big open area filled with beautiful flowers and breath-taking view of Nam Song is clearly visible from the fence. Perfect sunset spot ^^ To the right, there's hotel's dinning hall, Restaurant du Crabe d'Or. We were treated with Lao fusion food for Lunch with friends and finishing off with Lao-style Mango Sticky Rice. Indeed a mixture of experiences in one place!

Firstly, the location is beautiful and the resort offers a really relaxing experience. It’s also a short walk from some great restaurants such as the training academy and pizza luka. Once we settled in, the staff were also really helpful with booking tours etc and we did enjoy our stay. Certain team members did go out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the activities they helped us book, so we appreciate the efforts of the staff.

I am however, in two minds about returning. When we booked, my husband accidentally selected a day later than we intended on arriving. We contacted the resort via phone and email straight away (as advised by booking.com) to amend the booking, only to receive a call one day prior to our arrival stating that we would need to pay more for the first night due to price differences. These weren’t in place at the time we booked (one month prior) and so it was a bit of a surprise.

In addition, we confirmed that we would need a pickup from the station the morning we travelled there. Noone arrived, and nor did the hotel pickup their phone or respond to our WhatsApp messages questioning where the driver was. Nor did they ever offer an apology, despite having read our messages. I expected more of a hotel in this category. On a side note, its also worth noting that there actually aren’t many transport options form VV station, so I’d recommend organising these in advance.

The room was well laid out and spacious (we stayed in the Thai deng suite) with a beautiful balcony overlooking the stunning VV scenery. The maintenance did however, lack attention to detail. The water pressure in the shower was poor and the bathtub could have done with more of a scrub, so we didn’t feel comfortable using it. The rest of the cleaning was however, great, house keeping was reliable, the bed was comfortable, and we really enjoyed the restaurant food.

Overall, beautiful property and we did really enjoy staying here, but there are a number of great places to stay in VV, so I’m not sure if I’d return given other choices and the price of this resort.

We visited during the difficult time that coronavirus has raised. It’s hard to therefore give a review of what the hotel is like at full occupancy as it was more like 30%. However, we loved this place. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The setting and accommodation were awesome with a beautiful pool. The level of service was great. You’re right next to the bamboo bridge so there is some traffic noise but it added to the atmosphere as did the balloons practising their landings in the river. The setting is perfect on the river with the karsts in the backdrop. We stayed in the suite and it is huge with views directly over the river and we ate in the restaurant which serves great Laos food!

Nestled in a beautiful tropical garden highlighted by a pool overlooking the river and a great view of the not far off mountains, the resort invites with superior accommodations decorated with authentic arts and crafts from all over Laos which also can be found from reception to their upscale restaurant “Le Crab D’Or” which serves local and European dishes in a beautiful setting.
A small gift shop displays a variety of original hand made items personally sourced by the owners at specific villages throughout Laos known for their exquisite crafts.
To top off a busy day, one can select from a menu of massages at the Sala Spa built in typical Lao style located in a quiet corner next to the river.

This is an excellent hotel in a quiet corner of the town, just a short walk from the centre, and overlooking the river.
Rooms are well appointed and the restaurant was superb.
We visited a few other hotels for drinks/meals during our stay but we felt this one offered the best value for money so we were very happy to have stayed there.

Yes, we took a private transfer from the Riverside to Luang Prabang. It was quite expensive and probably not worth it if I'm honest. The hotel were surprised that we wanted a private transfer when they offer a minibus service themselves. I'd go for this option instead as the journey time is not significantly reduced with a private transfer. It took about 7 hours door to door with a couple of quick stops on the way. The journey is beautiful and you see a lot of 'real' Laos along the way, and a lot of different geography from flat plains to windy mountain roads. Honestly though, I'd take the hotel minibus over a private transfer. It will save you money and not take much longer.
