Very disappointing. The advertising leads you to expect a first class liveaboard. The reality is that it is fairly ordinary. The dives are very good but the boat not so. Four of the rooms are very large but cabin number 6 is tiny.We had cabin number 6! There is no dive deck, the kit staying on the tenders. This makes...

We visited Wakatobi for a little over a week in October 2016 with a snorkeling group. This place is amazingly beautiful. There are fabulous reefs and glorious fish right in front of the resort, and short 5min boat rides away. Just walk out of your bungalow or villa and jump in! The place has wonderful food- it really is the...

I waited months to visit Wakatobi. Main purpose was to scuba dive. And no doubt quite impressive I must say. Greeted by friendly staffs at the Ngurah Rai airport. and handled like the VIPs. When we arrived at the resort no doubt pristine and crystal clear water like many photographs promoting this island. It wasn't exaggerated at all. It is...

The manager and staff were very understanding about partial disablement and were a tremendous help giving us a very comfortable bungalow close to most things. They helped getting on and off the boat as well as in and out of the water. Because of this we were able to enjoy snorkelling the reefs which are dense with coral and have...

We can snorkelling and diving from a beach even without a boat, about 8-10 metres from beach we can reach a dive spot with 30 Km of depth. and of course we can see the beautiful scenery when we are snorkeling. Family trip will be nice and cheap at this island

We spent 11 delightful days diving from this resort. The reefs are among the world's best. Of 850 species of coral worldwide 750 are found here. In all of the Caribbean there are only 75 species. Our personal dive master, Yoeri, was from the Netherlands and attended to our every desire. He even toted our cameras and served wonderful snacks...

Diving~The diving is a mixture of sites that lend themselves to wide angle or macro photography in most cases. There is some current on a few of the sites, but nothing like Palau or the Galapagos. No reef hooks are necessary. The sites are all relatively close, with just a few exceptions. If you travel to one of the sites...

From the ease of booking the trip and the outstanding customer service (including chaperoning through the airport in Bali) to the delicious food and superb diving, Wakatobi Dive Resort exceeded all of our expectations. Our ocean bungalow was spacious and comfortable. We loved the outside shower, outside deck area, sun loungers, hammock, wifi, reading lights, personal library of reef and...
