We stayed three nights in the main lodge in an upstairs room with a view to the South across the entrance to the property. This is an historic hotel, and maintains the charm of bygone days. I enjoyed looking at old pictures of the hotel in the early 1900's. It's easy to imagine the old stage coach pulling up out...

the location is 10 min driving from the park gate inside the park. we considered staying in Tenaya lodge which looked like a more upscale property but it is 5 min from the gate and if there is a line at the entrance it could take easily additional time, which would turn 15 min that separate these hotels into 20...

Big Trees Lodge got a new name along with new management when the National Park changed its concessionaire. The old one managed to hang on to the names which had been used long before they came on board, but they prevailed with a court suit. So Wawona Lodge is now Big Trees Lodge. Still the same good service, nice rooms...

Wow, this place is great! Very old fashioned with no mod-cons, but it fits with the Victorian style and just what we wanted to escape the rat race. We had a room on the first floor at the front veranda overlooking the front lawn and fountain. The room was small with a comfortable bed, arm chair, large chest of drawers...

We stayed in the main lodge in 2 rooms with no bathrooms. The weather was fresh to say the least but the rooms were so warm & the bathrooms/restrooms were wonderfully warm. The bar service in front of the fire was excellent & restaurant served delicious food with lovely wines. I can't recommend this beautiful place & the service enough,...

Good value for staying close to Yosemite Valley in a unique, historic building. The lodge is in Wawona, so it's away from the craziness of Yosemite Valley proper. It's quite a bit cheaper than the hotels in the Valley or on 140, and has a homier/old-timey feel (rather than generic modern hotel). Piano lounge downstairs in the lobby was great!...

If Yosemite Nat'l Park & wildlife are the soul of Big Trees Lodge/Wawona, Tom Bopp the piano player/singer is the heart of the place. Make sure he's performing on the nights you stay there. We stayed in & ate dinner at the hotel just so we wouldn't miss him playing! He's a delight & great fun to sing along with...

This was the only hotel in Yosemite that had space when we went in the summer of 2015 and I'm glad we stayed there. It's now called the Big Trees Lodge. It's not in the Yosemite valley which means it's quieter and more peaceful. I don't know how it may have changed since the name change, but our room was...

Quiet, no electronics or phone. Wi-Fi available in the sun room. Loved it, will definitely stay again if we return. Do the ranger fireside talk at the campground and the horseback riding. The whole family had a great time.

What a beautiful lodge. Our room (and shared bathrooms) were consistently clean, comfortable, and convenient, and the front desk was always friendly and helpful. We strolled the grounds including a wonderful historic “town”. An excellent place to stay. Thank you!
