I put together a surprise 50th birthday trip for my wife to visit Yosemite. But I wasn't prepared for the fact that even in planning several months in advance, the lodging options in the Park would fill up so quickly. I came across this B&B on TripAdvisor and saw the excellent reviews - it turns out they were right on...

Lodging in and around Yosemite National Park books quickly and is generally expensive. Yosemite West High Sierra B&B is very clean, very quiet and priced based on proximity to Yosemite Valley. This B&B was built as such and is NOT someone's old house that a nail-gun-toting Do-it-Yourselfer decided to turn into a revenue-generating enterprise. Design is appropriate for a B&B....

When we are traveling, my husband and I enjoy finding places to stay away from the noise and confusion. At the High Sierra B&B we find exactly what we love just 20 minutes far from Yosemite Valley. We need to make a little effort to climb the 88 steps. Yes, our room was on top of a charming wooden building....

Actually booked High Sierra based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed. Phenomenal location with stunning views. Set right in the center of most destinations but up and away from any major destinations or groups so you have absolute peace and quiet to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Karen is a delight and aside from making a fantastic breakfast...

This is our second visit to Yosemite High Sierra Sunset View Retreat, Karen's self catering apartment. We had such a good time in 2014 we were keen to return. The apartment is spotless and very well equipped. Karen is always such a good hostess and gave us excellent advice about wonderful walks we would never have found by ourselves. She...

We stayed in the first floor apartment (still 55 steps up) at the High Sierra B&B in the residential area called Yosemite West about 30 minutes away of Yosemite Valley. Everything in the very well equipped 1 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment looked new and very clean. It is clear that Karen has tried very hard to provide everything a guest might...

This B&B has a very unique setting and beautiful mountain views. The reason these views are so wonderful is the entrance is 88 stairs up from the street. Not a big deal for most folks. The rooms are very clean, nicely furnished and very comfortable. There is Wi-fi for e-mail purposes. Breakfast was hearty and plentiful. Karen the proprietor is...

It is situated close to glacier point, an easy drive into the valley. I have usually stayed in curry village, so I found it nice to experience a less busy part of the park. It is nice to have extra space, like the living room and deck to relax in. The morning breakfasts are delicious.

Quite simply - the perfect experience from start to finish! We stayed 3 nights, and to be honest, we hadn't done a great deal of planning before our trip so were worried that we may not get everything you 'should' do in Yosemite done...as we hadn't planned our time much at all. We needn't have worried. Thanks to Karen &...
