In a town filled with southern history, is a huge mansion which has lovingly been preserved with memorabilia from the civil war era. Rooms appointed with beautiful furniture, books, etc. We received a personal guided tour of the main house since we were staying there. Others make reservations to tour. Our room was adjacent to the main house with a...

Arrived having driven through a massive storm to a helpful reception. Got better when we were upgraded to the "Wilsons" suite. It was Hugh, 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and just loads of space - an blessing having spent several nights in hotel rooms. Breakfasts were excellent - freshly cooked for you, and not just bacon and eggs. It is a...

We stayed in one of two rooms in the main house (worth paying extra for). Wow what an experience. When showed to your room they took away the velvet rope at the door stopping tourists who visit the house on a tour from entering, it's like staying in a museum! There are other rooms on site too, a pool and...

Everything seems to have been said about this excellent place lovely location, fine rooms and a very good restaurant. Vicksburg is a friendly town and this establishment adds to its charm. It's location close. To the civil war sites is a bonus.

We actually stayed in the 'Emma room' and, although not in the main house, it was extremely pleasant. Anchuca is amazing and after breakfast we were shown a short video about the history of the house and then allowed to explore it at our own pace. It is only a short walk to the centre of Vicksburg and the Mississippi....

The staff is a beautiful extension of this wonderful b&b. Every person here is so hospitable and friendly. When we arrived we were given our room, it was outside, up an outdoor stairway, down a balcony. When we got in the room, I was so disappointed, it felt like a old motel room that smelled like cigarette smoke. I was...

Anchuca is the real deal. It's an iconic property that epitomizes everything about it's setting... THIS is the Vicksburg that you came to experience: a gracious setting, lovely people, and real Southern food. I assure you that 20 years from now, whenever the subject of the Mississippi Delta comes up in conversation, this is what you'll think of. It's the...

We slept 25 feet from where Jefferson Davis gave a speech on the balcony in 1869. It doesn't get any better than that. I always recommend historic homes when traveling. It is truly up to us to honor the history of our country. The owners of Anchuca have done just that. Although we did not eat dinner here, we did...
