We just checked in, (around 330pm) first time at the property, went to the pool area and was looking for a seat, saw a red lounger and sat down and within seconds I get a very snarky waitress asking me “did you pay for that” I responded pay for what? She said you can’t sit there unless you pay for it. A better approach/tone would be nice, Also I was surprised at the pool, and the lack of cleaning around there. The pool is very very dirty and busy and no one Would be cleaning up the left over beer cans from the pool area. I sat and watch the hot tub eyeing the tipped over beers cans seeing when someone will come and take them away. But the waitstaff was more interested in asking people to pay for a cabana and getting more drinks (a higher bill) then clearing up the area. There’s tons of left over garbage laying around. The wind tunnel is horrible, everyone would be making comments about the wind and how the water is very cold. My luggage was dropped by the bell man and a large notable scratch. However we werewere enroute to the airport so I didn’t say anything. First room, the floor has a huge stain so I moved room after. The mandatory resort fees included several classes however most was fully booked for all 5 days when I checked in so we were not able to use it. As a gold member I inquired about an complimentary upgrade and the Only upgrades available was $50-$75/night. Overall, Location is great, however this is a very big property and it is very busy and in my opinion not ran properly.…
I absolutely loved my stay here at the Sheraton Waikiki. Service from all staff members was exceptional. From the time that we checked in until we checked out. I didn’t get my room service in my room but the housekeeping would leave fresh towels at my door daily when we placed the old towels outside our door… The convenience of this property is awesome. If you’re looking to shop, it’s right there, the beach, it’s right there and all the restaurants within walking distance of the property. There’s also some great restaurants on property. And the pools were not too crowded and the beach was definitely not to crowded. Get there a little early so you and get a good spot to lay out or rent you some chairs with an umbrella for the day. Lastly, I have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties, this was one of the best. The views, the food, the service and the location made this an outstanding and very relaxing stay.…
Nerita was cleaning another room when she saw how lost I was. She took the time to guide me through the layout of the hotel and made sure I was settled in my room comfortably. She offered extra help with anything else I needed and confirmed that my room had everything I needed. I severely underestimated the size of this hotel and the enormity in its resources. Staff like Nerita who go above and beyond is what made my experience at the Sheraton Waikiki amazing. Although she was busy cleaning a room, she still made the time for other guests to make sure they were comfortable and had the best experience possible. Thank you Nerita!! I seriously appreciate you.
I love staying at this property whenever I visit Oahu. The check in experience is always incredible. All staff are very hospitable. This most recent visit, Colleen/Collette (?) checked us in (I really hope I got her name right so she gets the recognition she deserves from management). She was incredibly friendly and great at making those she checks in feel important. My friend and I felt so welcomed. The room we had was a corner suite, two balcony, ocean view. Amazing view from the room of diamond head and the surfers out on the ocean. I enjoyed drinking my coffee early in the morning and watching the surfers. This property is in the middle of Waikiki (convenient) but when you're in the room, it's like you're in your own oasis. I can't wait to stay here again!
Hotel Manager Paul went beyond the call of duty, obtaining 2 cups of rice from a busy chef (who tried to give him cooked rice) for my phone that got caught by a stray wave on a walkway. The Apple store nearby couldn't help, and no grocery store was in site, so he saved my business trip from becoming a disaster. What might have happened...There would have been a series of missed connections, with distributors, government VIPs, friends, Uber drivers (no apps), and even airport security holding my almost-lost suitcase. But all was OK, because Paul helped out. Thank you Paul!
