Stayed there just one night on a trip. Booked the room with points. The place is definitely dated and needs upgrading. It is however, in an absolutely perfect location right in the heart of Waikiki with a perfect ocean front location. Everything is walking distance...More

I confess, I didn't actually stay at this hotel, but, being a history nut, I went on the free tour of the hotel that is offered (ask the concierge). They didn't mind that I wasn't a guest. The tour took about an hour and it...More

Nothing is complimentary at this property. Breakfast will cost around $40 with tip or more for 2. Not sure about high tea and suggest contacting the hotel

Can't comment on the Alohilani but I've been frequenting the Moana since 1979 and stayed as recently as Jan 1 for a few days. Time, and fitting into the plans of others meant I did not stay as long as I wanted. Guess this is testimony to my preference and therefore recommendation.
The Moana is an old school establishment, to be enjoyed and not rushed. In the old building the rooms are a tad small but very comfortable. This is not a slick, polished generic place. It has charm and reeks of a bygone era. Enjoy, hope these comments help🌴
