Sandy was very welcoming when bartender at the cafe and made me laugh and feel right at home at the Equus. Would definitely stay here again. There’s a variety of cocktails and drinks, with good cafe food.
Lincoln and Sandy were so personable. The 2 of them made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the location of the hotel. The staff will help you with local places to eat and how to find different locations on the island.
Liked - Water pressure in the shower was excellent. Location was good. Beds and pillow were comfortable. was nice to have a Balcony (no view), but it's loud next to the highway liked having a cozy cafe downstairs in the lobby wifi was adequate friendly staff Disliked · felt like a very old hotel. room is falling apart, carpets. It badly needs a renovation. very expensive for the quality of physical space, although likely a value for the area. $30 per day for parking and not even a guaranteed space in the actual lot (there's an overflow access to a large parking garage, but that's not convenient. if I was going to use that, I might as well have paid for a better alternative. One night they found us a space 3 floors up where I had to maneuver my car behind a pole loud on low floors being near the highway…
We came to Hawaii for our nephew's graduation. Were staying at the Equus for the last few days of our trip. This place is smaller and more intimate than some of the other hotels in this area, but they charge a hidden service fee and parking fee when you get here which was a curve ball. Got breakfast downstairs at the Paniolo Lanai Bar and Cafe and ordered a latte and Julia drew a sloth on it!!! Made my day!! She's the best!!
It was the perfect hotel for us. Small, quaint and friendly. Nogiant lobby, or kids screaming at the pool. Just a bunch of amazing locals running a small hotel. The other travelers there were people concerned with their adventures and not interested in a high dollar sterile environment. We'll go back.
