The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa receives high marks for its prime location and cleanliness, with guests often mentioning the well-maintained rooms and modern amenities. However, some travelers caution about the noise levels from various sources and the impact on evening tranquility.

Detailed Reviews
I am a titanium member and seldom ever have check-in issue. I arrived in Honolulu at the Marriott and at the Bonvoy Elite check-in, they said they only had a double bed low floor room city view available when my reservation, made months in advance, was for a king, high floor ocean view. i was pretty perturbed after a 12 hour flight from Boston. Thankfully, the Front Desk Supervisor came along, Shermaine and within 10 minutes fixed everything and I was good to go and everything turned out great. Hotel is very nice. Stayed in the K Tower, 15th floor overlooking the pool and oceanview. This hotel has great access to the beach and the pool is great but only after about 1:00 pm when the sun comes over the hotel tower. Bell men are very helpful but do not love unloading taxi's or cars at the entrance (once you have lugged the bags to reception, they are all excited to help). Food choices in the hotel are OK. The adjacent Italian restaurant is expensive and food is expensive, small portions, but good. Sushi restaurant is fair both in food and price. Breakfast is very good; buffet with very friendly service. Compared to other Waikaki hotels, I think this has best options for beach, location, action, etc. Because of construction in pool area, there was occasional banging when at the pool but heard nothing in my room.

The Marriott Waikiki is a standard resort hotel very clean and impersonal, could be a hotel anywhere in the world. The check in staff were very helpful and courteous, our room was basic and simple. but had a balcony with a view of Diamond head other the top of other hotels, and if you looked around the corner you could see Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole beach and the sea.
We checked the Grill restaurant out for their breakfast buffet, but nothing special enough to spend $35.00 on. (each) So settled for a couple of continental breakfasts with a view of the beach over the road. It is close to the beach so would be go for families with children to stay at.
TIP: This area was once the Home of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, his statue is just across the road by the beach. This great man was the only elected member of a Royal family and British Officer to serve in the United States House of Representatives.

Firstly, I strongly recommend everyone to book through Marian in Reservations. She was unbelievable in making sure our reservation was spot on (we had 3 rooms and wanted them together). Her responses to my emails etc was truly above and beyond. It is the BEST experience I have ever had when making a hotel reservation and she is a true ambassador on behalf of the hotel.
Secondly, the rooms. We normally stay at the Moana Surfrider in one of their suites but no more. We stayed in the newly renovated suite with adjoining rooms on level 17 of the Kealohilani tower (closest to the beach). The room was huge with not 1 but 3 balconies. We had 2 x toilets, 2 x baths and a huge living area. The views over Waikiki beach especially at sunset were picture perfect. We got plenty of sun and the rooms were just fantastic. Again I would prefer these suites compared to the Moans Surfrider suites.
The Moana Terrace is perhaps the best spot to watch the sunset over a drink. I am a very keen photographer and visited a number of other locations ie Tiki Bar, The Deck etc, but the Moana Terrace was the best. The food and drinks were reasonable. The Kealohilani pool deck area is being renovated and closed on the last day we were there. There is a second pool on the same level (level 3) located in the other tower. this had just been renovated and was great.
D.K. Steakhouse in the hotel is the best steakhouse in Waikiki by far.
If you are wondering why I have not given the hotel 5 x stars is because of the reception staff. Upon arrival, their internet was down so we could not check in and we had to wait. Also I had issues with the bill which took ages to remedy - hence the 4 star rating.
I must also mention "buster" who helped with our bags. What a great ambassador of the hotel. Both my wife and I were left amazed by his zest for life, his passion for his job and love of the hotel. Both him and Marian are a credit to the Marriott name.
I would highly recommend staying at the hotel (Kealohilani tower) for the following reasons:
Huge rooms
Great views
Newly renovated
Great location
Great restaurants in the hotel
ABC shop in the foyer
Great Pool Bar and Terrace and
Great sunset views

I would not stay here again. They tried to give me a smaller room with 1 queen bed when I had paid for a king. It took me an hour to check in and get to my room because the front desk was full and there was a long line to the elevators. Since they closed the other tower due to covid, they’ve jam packed everyone into the one tower. You literally feel like you’re living on top of each other. The walls are thin - I could hear every time my neighbor flushed their toilet. The doors all slam so you hear your neighbors coming in and out and any loud families in the hallway. My room was a great size and with a partial view of the ocean, although I was facing another hotel next door and could hear the singing each night. Luckily I was on the 5th floor so I ended up taking the stairs instead of waiting for the elevators, but every time I passed by there was a line. The stairs are hard to find and there is no security to them. Anyone can just go through them - there’s no key card entry. I didn’t see any cameras in their either so not exactly giving me a sense of security in the hotel either. Do yourself a favor and book your stay elsewhere.

We booked about 4 months in advance for 5 nights and requested for 2 double beds.
In short- you pay same amount and request months in advance for decency bed for your child instead you are given whatever they feel like, possibly profiled you and if you’re deemed suitable and posh enough for the new tower with rooms that you see on their website, google, Expedia but don’t be fooled you’d mostly end up in the old tower with leaks, construction noise, no water on certain days!!!
Our ordeal-
When we arrived we were given a tiny room with Queen size bed, impossible for the 3 of us to sleep on. We were told a room with 2 double beds would be available the next day. Our room for the first night was so tiny the there was no space to put roll away bed until we put a chair and a table in the balcony, even after that there was no space to stand!
Next day arrives and we ask to look at the rooms with the double beds, only to find out because we had other family in our trip that the tower was extremely noisy with construction work going on through the night, no water for an hour one day (with no note saying that there will be no water ) ceiling dripping in the hall. The room we were shown was old and shoddy with a roof of parking lot blocking any view from the balcony. Couldn’t believe this was a room they’d offer for people who’ve paid the same price in the new tower! All of this took about an hour or more standing at the front desk, not knowing what the hell they were staring at the computer or going to a back room for.
We were then told that a room in the new tower with 2 double beds would be available for us next day and to bring our bags down so we can shift in it. We had planned to go to pearl harbour memorial first thing in the morning so we packed our bags and went to speak to front desk to ensure that we could move into our new room when we got back from the memorial. Well we were wrong there we were standing at front desk yet again for more than an hour, to be told they can’t see the note the same guy at front desk had made yesterday for the new room, then they told us they tried to call us in the room and our cell phone to tell us there was no room for us the next day, which was a complete lie we had no calls on our cell phone, and why would we be in our room to answer phones from front desk all day? There was no letter/ note either to say there was no room with 2 double beds! Absolute lies straight to our face after waiting and watching incompetent staff faff around!
For a whole 10 mins they saw 2 rooms available and then suddenly after some time in the back room with the manager they had disappeared and the hotel was fully booked!! Another big fat lie!
We ended up not getting the Arizona memorial tickets because of the time we wasted with the front desk!
Marriott Waikiki need to get their act together!

The location is excellent. The beach is right across the street. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Each room seems to have a small balcony for guests to sit outside and see the street and the water (or part of the water if not from an oceanfront room). Our two rooms are spacious. That said, I did not find their hotel environment attractive. Have been in many Marriotts with nicer settings. Parking is expensive ($45/day), and there is an additional charge of $35/day/room. Some minor points: they don't provide hotel slippers and there is no water in the room (have to go downstairs to get it from the water supply station). There is a small pot to make coffee or tea available, but one cup only. Must wait for the device to cool down to make a second cup.

Aloha Alexander C, Thank you for your honest review. We are glad to hear that you are pleased with the room and the location. I do want to go further into detail about the hotel slippers and water. Hotel slippers are available upon request and can be sent to the room. Water bottles are not provided in our efforts to be more environmentally friendly and do offer our free refillable water bottles for you to use throughout your stay. We hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you to Waikiki. Mahalo.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the marriot waikiki, we loved out staying here, location is perfect, across the street is waikiki Beach where you can admire the most beautiful sunsets. Walking distance to restaurants, we rented a car to drive the island, so we did self parking. $45 per day + taxes, yes, it is pricey however it is convenient, you can valet your car for $50 per day if you prefer.
The view from our room was amazing.com, I couldn't get enough of it.
The hotel has good restaurants, we had dinner at the terrace, live music and food is good.

Our family of 4 stayed in a room with 2 double beds. It was a tight squeeze but we made it work. Thankfully, we were upgraded to an Ocean view room due to our Marriott Bonvoy Gold status. The room had a great view, although obstructed by the other tower closer to the beach. Nice amenities including a small fridge and coffee maker. I requested a robe and slippers and recieved them promptly from housekeeping. The room was very clean and spacious. One thing lacking were reading lights by the bed. I like to read late at night while my family sleeps but had to use a big corner light but kept a few folks up due to brightness.
There is a $50 resort fee - having unlimited blu-ray DVDs with new releases was a plus. Disappointed that beach chairs are included upon request, but there were no chairs available until Day 4 of our stay.
The parking garage is a $45 daily charge (pretty steep) and the garage has very narrow and tight lanes so had to be really careful.
Nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby although I did see a few people waiting in line or wandering in the lobby without masks, despite the signs posted everywhere. No staff member or Starbucks worker enforced the masking rule!
The pool was nicely heated and we got to enjoy the hot tub, although it seemed like the hot tub was always crowded with no signs to remind folks to social distance or to limit capacity. Lots of activities around like cornhole, bocce, foosball. One complaint from my kids is that the 2 shuffleboards didn't have any sand on them. I did appreciate that there were hand sanitizing stations everywhere and there were hydration stations to fill up water bottles. All in all, it was a nice stay.

The Waikiki Beach Marriott had everything I needed. My check-in experience with Janeen was great and I loved that she was so patient with me when I forgot one of my documents. The hotel has 1300 rooms, but throughout the stay I didn't feel like I was staying in a busy/large hotel. The lobby is great for lounging. I also love that they provide reusable water bottles for the re-fill station in the lobby. Also thank you to Skai, who sent up some goodies for me and my boyfriend's birthdays.

Just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay. Our room was oceanfront and the ocean view with the surfers, boaters, and sunsets was magical every day! The room was modern, very clean and a good size. The balcony had two chairs and a chaise. The new pool opened while we were there and it was a nice upgrade with plenty of chairs and poolside servers. Water stations were readily available. They even had a poolside ice machine for personal use. The beach directly across the street was never crowded. Towels were available at the hotel and chair/umbrella rentals were readily available on the beach. We found elevator service to be very good...no long waits from ground floor to 20th floor. Overall our location was great...we felt like we were close to so much and late checkout was a bonus! Our only disappointment was restaurant food availability/quality and the scarcity of resort stores on property. The impact of COVID was evident throughout Waikiki and Hawaii. So grateful for the staff/places that made our getaway an amazing experience under stressful conditions.

Ask for specific wants. Ocean view, near pool, king, queen beds etc. Sheraton used to have a request.box on their booking site. Marriott does not. You can call the front desk, before your check in date with requests.
It helps if you are a member of Marriott bonvoy
Our room in the main tower had a microwave. Just request if your room does not have a microwave.
In addition, ours also had a refrigerator
