I just stayed at this hotel about 2 weeks ago with my husband for our honeymoon. We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed the property although this isn't a "young and happening" place. It was mostly retired or families but if you're okay with a calm and no frills environment this is the place to go. First things first, YOU...

My husband and I spent 6 days at the Hale Koa Hotel for a ships reunion. We had an ocean view on the 7th floor and we were not disappointed. From making our reservations, to our arrival, to our room we could not have been treated any better. The staff was so fantastic. Every morning the breakfast buffet was a...

My new husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon since we figured we might as well take advantage of the fact we could stay there. I'm sorry we did. We had such a beautiful stay in Maui with excellent service and then showed up to 2 double beds (even though they greeted us with "happy honeymoon" since that note...

For the money this place is fabulous. Most of the staff are extremely friendly & helpful. It's right on the beach & the grounds are very well kept & beautiful. My only complaint is the Barefoot Bar. The bar staff are the most rude, unfriendly, and allow staff I have ever encountered. If you can get passed that then this...

Hale Koa Hotel, what can I say? This incredibly beautiful place holds so many memories for me. I started vacationing there when I was 8 years old with my Grandfather, Grandmother and Dad. My Grandpa was a Lt. Col. in Air Force so that is how we got to stay there. All I can say is that the Hale Koa...

This was the first time in Hawaii and I must say the stay at this hotel was excellent. This hotel is for military personnel active, retired and DOD civilians. To me this was a resort and not a hotel. Prices was excellent compared to the prices of the surrounding Hotels in the area. The hotel had so much to offer...

Outstanding hotel. My wife an I stayed in a newly renovated room, which if you're use to nice hotels, it's nothing to brag about. However, the view and amenities of this hotel outdoes any of the neighboring hotels. Additionally, this property has the best and largest beach area than any on the strip, which you can clearly tell by simple...

So we normally go to Maui because of the lack of military. When we are on vacation we try not to be reminded of work. But when we stayed here at the hale Koa it felt just like a civilian hotel. It was great!! If it wasn't in Honolulu it would be perfect. For all these people that say they...

The location is excellent with a really nice stretch of wide beach. The rooms were dated but clean and comfortable. The drinks at the bars were not good. The bartenders at some of the bars were rude and service slow. The price of the room is comparable to other hotels in area. The grounds are beautiful

As long as you are active duty or retired military or DOD civilian. We avoid this hotel for quite a few years because of the "military" brand, but have changed our minds. We have stayed at the Hale Koa the past 5 trips to Honolulu and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are nicely appointed and the views from the...
