We enjoyed our stay at the Samuel Durfee House. Both Heather and Michael were extremely pleasant, with helpful advice on where to go during our stay. Michael prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning which filled us up for the day's activities. Our room was clean and the right size for 2 people. We stayed in the Ida Lewis room which...

Agree with all the other positive reviews. Rather expensive for what it is, but less so than many other B&Bs in Newport so a good option. Very central location. Lovely family. Peaceful surroundings and we had a very relaxing couple of days here.

We are glad you enjoyed your time with us. We understand that Newport is an expensive destination, a great time to visit when it is more reasonable is late fall, December (the mansions are decorated for the holidays), or spring.

This B&B was so very clean! It was convenient to the harbor area, stores and mansions. You start your day with a delicious breakfast. In the afternoon there are cookies & coffee and or tea. Michael and Heather are eager to give info on places to see as well as directions. We decided to go to the beach and they...

My husband and I spent three nights at the inn at the end of May. It was a perfect time to visit Newport -- the town had enough visitors to feel lively, but it was before the summer crush. Michael & Heather were informative, friendly and fun. The breakfasts & cookies in the afternoon were outstanding. We walked to all...

This B&B was wonderful in so many ways. It's location is walking distance to Thames Street, making it very convenient. The rooms are so quaint and well appointed with period furnishings and details. Most importantly, the innkeepers Michael & Heather are so welcoming. The breakfast is delicious, homemade, and comforting! It was my birthday and Heather baked cupcakes that were...

My husband and I and another couple stayed here for 3 days this June. What a great B & B. Heather and Michael were so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were incredible! Stayed in the Ida Lewis Room. King size bed, beautiful decor with our own private patio! We would definitely recommend the Samuel Durfee House! (And loved Newport!)

Michael and Heather went out of their way to be welcoming, inquire about our day, and offer useful suggestions. We stayed in the suite, and really enjoyed the convenience of the private entrance. Beds were super comfortable (but very high!). The inn was within walking distance of many attractions, so much of the time we left our car in their...

Trying to book a weekend retreat in Newport can be overwhelming with all the choices online. We certainly lucked out by staying at Michael and Heather's Samuel Durfee Housee this past weekend. They made the stay comfortable and gave us everything we needed while giving us the privacy we hoped for. Their son, Jackson, was also the well informed host...

The Samuel Durfee House and the hosts, Michael and Heather dePinho was a superb place to spend our 35th anniversary. The rooms were immaculate, the bed was very comfortable, the food magnificent. Both Michael and Heather were so helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this B & B to anyone coming to this area.

This is the best B and B I have ever stayed in. The innkeepers are so generous! There is a real parking lot (does not require a ten-point turn). Breakfast is fresh and delicious. The bathrooms are magically large and modern. Stay there if you can.
