We were in Newport for the Wine and Food Festival and stayed at the Jailhouse Inn. It was a great choice. Located in downtown, it's within easy walking distance of the wharf, the travel center (where you can buy trolley tickets and board for easy getting around--no need to drive & try to find parking), shopping, and restaurants. My room...

The room we had was fab, we had a two bedroom suite it seemed with a double bed in each. Decent size rooms too so no need to feel claustrophobic. The TV had a good selection and bathroom was average. The breakfast was ok in the morning, usual continental. Walking distance from the main area and a clean, tidy hotel....

Stayed here with my sisters and mom for our annual weekend getaway. Room was basic but clean and spacious for all 4 of us, common areas were well kept, property had a lot of charm. Convenient location for walking to shops, restaurants, and trolley stop was a 1 minute walk down the street. Only gripe was the breakfast was a...

We were unlucky with the noise perhaps as there was one group of noisy people outside in a parking area that were yahooing into the small hours. But then again, the internal plumbing of other rooms was noisy as was the floor or bed from other rooms. The aircon was so noisy you couldn't leave it on. Maybe betting a...

Great atmosphere very social place. Good location to access downtown. My favorite things, fluffy white towels, the two room suite and a nice breakfast. Only negative, a light needed fixing and the bed could be a little softer, but hey what do you expect when your in jail!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Jailhouse Inn. We were originally booked in to Room 2 (just off the main foyer) but after encountering a small problem we were whisked to the 3rd floor and a more spacious room. I only mention the "problem" because it was so swiftly handled by the attentive evening staff. When we checked...

Compared to hotel prices while were in NY, Newport seemed cheap! Staff were friendly and helpful at the Jailhouse Inn. Stayed on the first floor and if returning would request a room on the upper floor. Our room faced a back alley and there was what seemed like constant vehicle and people traffic and noise day and night. Also the...

The staff is more than willing to speak with you about the history of the Inn and surrounding areas while accommodating you in top notch fashion. The food was fresh and the rooms were spotless. I can't say enough about how perfect the JAILHOUSE INN was for our family.from the minute we arrived( Kayla was a doll and so informative) to the day we left.. They even let us see a secret room downstairs which my young girls loved.. The room was big and clean... The breakfast was perfect to get you out the door...

The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms are nice and well appointed given the pricing. The inn offers FREE parking and downtown is within walking distance. The FREE breakfast is CONTINENTAL. 24/7 good quality coffee. Fresh baked cookies every afternoon ;-) If you don't know what continental means, well.... it's a simple cold breakfast. Here at Jailhouse,...
