Wonderful accommodations for our toddler, my husband, and me. Our hosts, Terri and Mike had toys, treats, and a kiddie pool ready to go for our toddler (which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated!). Terri and Mike were very responsive to our inquiries and attentive to our needs. The accommodations are a short distance from a variety of Newport... More

We recently enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Hawthorne House of Newport, Rhode Island. The accommodations are spotless, comfortable and Terri & Mike Fitch are accommodating in every way. As lifelong residents of Newport they are knowledgeable about the area and offered perfect suggestions of things to do, places to see and dine (Anthony's was a recommendation for scallops... More

The Hawthorne House is a lovely place to stay if you want to be a little outside the craziness of downtown Newport. Mike and Terri are lovely hosts. It was nice to have a separate bedroom and living room and it had a well stocked kitchenette. There were always homemade cookies and Terri made us a lemon poppy seed bread!... More

We stayed here as part of an East Coast roadtrip. On our arrival we were met by MIke who gave us a guided tour of the accommodation. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped throughout. The outside deck area was lovely to sit out on in the nice weather and we even used the BBQ provided. Mike cleaned the... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hawthorne house for our anniversary. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Terri and mike were very friendly and did a great job making us feel welcome and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Terri made us homemade banana bread and cookies and the fridge was always stocked. We recently spent 3 days in Newport to end our fall colors east coast tour. The Hawthorne House is a nice alternative to the normal Inns and Hotels, yet conveniently close to all of Newport.Terri and Mike were excellent hosts, and Terri always had homemade cookies or banana bread available. The room is a warm and cozy one bedroom suite... More

I stayed here in September for my 30th birthday with three girlfriends. In addition to chips and salsa and a plate of cookies there was a bottle of champagne and a "Happy Birthday, Liz!" sign waiting for us upon our arrival! The owners, Terri and Mike, were so friendly and accommodating. They allowed one of my friends to store a... More

The owners of this nice B&B couldn't have been more lovely. The B&B was clean and tidy; the terrace en suite was a bonus. The homemade breakfast breads were plentiful and delicious. We were made to feel at home. The owners did not however advertise that they were smokers. While our unit did not smell of smoke, the entry foyer... More

We went to the Hawthorne House in Newport for a long weekend and I honestly could not have asked for a more perfect place. HH is conveniently located near downtown Newport and within walking distance to a gorgeous beach. But what impressed me most about the HH were the owners, Terry and Mike who were SO welcoming. They did so... More

We stayed for a long weekend at the Hawthorne House B&B. The suite was even roomier than expected, and the food and amenities were super. Terri and Mike couldn't have been nicer - just the right balance between friendly and non-intrusive. They were always looking out for our comfort and satisfaction and they even had treats for our dog! Rarely... More
