This hotel is fairly shabby — I know they are working on bringing it back to a former glory — but a long way to go. The bathroom situation is truly strange — you have four hotel rooms sharing one locked toilet. And when I say toilet, that is exactly what I mean. A tiny closet sized toilet — and you have to wash your hands back in your hotel room. And no way to bolt the toilet — so even if you lock it on the inside, anyone with a key can unlock it. There were flyers everywhere (front desk, our room etc.) that advertised a cheaper rate than what they charged us. We tried to ask for an explanation and never received a good answer — also not a refund… The beds were decent and clean, the radiator was efficient if rather clanky and hissing all night. I would have enjoyed seeing a ghost — but they were off haunting someone else.

I wish I had read other reviews before staying here. I was so excited to stay in this historic district and beautiful hotel. There website does state there may be noise in the building as it is in the entertainment district. We were ok with street noise, noisy pipes, and the heater we turned off due to squeaking, but the DJ blasting music until 2 am on a Thursday night was crazy! Then after, people yelling obscenities in the street. We called the front desk only to be told his hands were tied and he basically just worked there. So sadly my advice is if you are planning a visit to Flagstaff, visit the hotel maybe eat here, but stay SOMEWHERE else.

This was a great old property with tons of character. Character brings very squeaky floors and beds, you could hear people walking on the floor above you at all hours. Bathroom was large but clawfoot tub/shower inconvenient and created a flood on the floor. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant but you have to ring the bell every time you want to get into the building so someone can unlock the door - in much need of a keypad. Biggest negative was that this hotel has three different clubs/bars that were packed on weekend nights; if you don't mind hearing loud music and people until about 2 AM, then you'll do fine here. After a long day, it was a bit too much.

We absolutely love the Weatherford. It may not be for everyone, if you like the typical cookie cutter Holiday Inn. The rooms are unique with antiques typical of the era. The parking can be tough, but I have never had any problems getting a space. There is not someone at the desk 24/7, however all of our needs were met. The management staff was very attentive to our needs. There are no elevators (this is a historic, old building) so you get a little exercise if you are on the 3rd floor!! There are 3 bars, 2 have live music. We love music and dancing, so it was very convenient to "party" and just walk to our room. (The Flagstaff police are very actively pursuing anyone even remotely suspicious). The location is in the heart of Downtown so we could walk to eat and shop (never even had to move our car!!) We had so much fun!!!!!! (and we are in our early 60's- not kids). This being said, it was very quiet. I would never stay anywhere else in this city.

So my wife and I are haunted hotel junkies and we have stayed in some really janky places. Not the case with the Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff Arizona. Made reservations and when we arrived we were greatest by the manager who checked us in and showed us around the hotel. Very historical and nice place. Gave us a short history and the history of the paranormal activity that has occurred. The place has three bars. The Zane Grey on the third floor, Charley's on the main floor, and the Gopher Hole in the basement. A restaurant serves all three levels and the food was delicious. We had live entertainment and then to bed. Our room was on the main level and was told not much goes on haunting wise in this area of the hotel....until this night. I set my alarm for 2am...got up and roamed the hotel common areas with not activity. Went back to the room and got up around 6am. Went out again nothing. ThenI went back to our room and was sitting on the bed while my wife was fast asleep...then a huge bang in our bathroom...when I went in I saw that our shower curtain was about about 4 feet from the shower area and the shower curtain was in a full twist. Had to a spectral visit. Then as I am going to see manager to tIell her I am waking by the restrooms at the bar where NO one is and I notice the lights go on in the women's then the men's. I OPEN the men's room and no one is there and the light then shuts off...no reason, then I checked the women's...no one there as well. It was so fun. Great place, great staff, great haunt. A definite return.... Thanks Weatherford Hotel.
