We stayed at the place for a day or two while we were visitng Luray Caverns and the wildforests nearby. The price that we paid however turned out to be way more expensive than wat was told to us at the time of booking. However we arrived at an odd time of 4 am n it was kind of them...

We also read a few of the reviews here about not staying but decided to try it based upon the good reviews and we are glad that we stayed here. The staff was extemely friendly and very helpful in our stay there, we loved the area so much we decided to stay another night and explore more of the area....

We stayed at the Luray Caverns Motel West for three nights in June. It is an old hotel, not for everyone, which is why there are mixed reviews. But if you are looking for a rather quiet place without the hustle and bustle and a beautiful view from both the front and back then this quaint little place will do...

The room was fine and clean. (Glad we didn't get scared away by other reviews!) Right across from the Caverns, where your breakfast of cereal, juice and coffee awaits. But the highlight of our visit to Luray was meeting the night clerk, John Waybright, who recently retired after decades of editing the local newspaper. If there's something about Luray and...

A Motel 6 or a Super 8 have better rooms. This hotel is straight out of the 1940's. I think that was the last time the beds and pillows were updated. The staff was very friendly and willing to do what they could but this place is is not worth the $89 per night they charge. Everything from the 1970's...

After this experience, I will never again book a room for multiple nights without showing up first and seeing what it is like. You'd think that for $90 a night, in rural America, you'll get something half-way decent? Well, think again. The building that we stayed in (one of several on the property) was awful. Being there was like living...

We went to Luray last in 2005, again staying at the Luray Caverns West. It was clean, convenient to everything we had planned, and if we ever get back to Luray, we'll stay there again. Unfortunately the pool was closed by the time we got around to it. It was a nice quiet place, and although we probably might not...

The motel isn't awful, but it's not recommendable either. The desk girl was sweet and helpful and the cost was quite inexpensive (getting tickets to the caverns from the hotel will save you an additional $10 on the room). The room, while clean and fairly spacious, did need a good airing out (as another reviewer stated), smelled very musty which...

On July 20th, me and two of my girlfriends stayed at the Luray Caverns Motel West hotel in Luray Caverns, Virginia. We had a great time. After having read mixed opinions on the hotel I was a little unsure. But when I got there I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and clean. The room was well made up,...

However, the rooms FELT dirty as well as smelled dirty. The crapets were distgusting (I kept my flip flops on at ALL times.) and...

“The suite in the middle used to be the office and manager's residence. It did not cost that much more than a regular room, and two levels (replete with a full kitchen) and lots of space for a family. The entrance is in the back of the motel, adding to the privacy and quiet. We prepared our own meals and saved, even though we had to buy cooking utensils.”
