Lovely hotel just blocks away from the Santa Fe Plaza. Excellent service all around. We ate dinner at the adjacent Del Charro saloon. Highly recommend the stuffed burger and house margaritas 🍹 We stayed in a superior king room with a built in kiva fireplace, perfect for a Santa Fe winter night. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Definitely recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay at the Inn of the Governors immensely. Customer service at this hotel is the best I have ever experienced from the parking attendant to the front desk to the restaurant wait staff. The free breakfast is served ( not grab-and -go), generous , and delicious. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the room price is extremely reasonable for such a good location. They even give you a welcome gift of sherry, dried fruit and nuts, and a few special cookies. No complaints!
Very welcoming at check in. Even an adult welcome package with snacks and drinks. Spacious room, secure location, and very close to city center. The restaurant attached had a warm atmosphere as well as great food. Had breakfast and dinner there.
I recently spent four nights here the week before Christmas. What a wonderful experience! The room was great, the in room fireplace perfect, The breakfast included was everything you could ask for and the gourmet coffee - wow! The only thing missing in the room was a microwave. We had some wonderful meals around town and couldn't bring the leftovers back since we didn't have a microwave :( Hint to management: there is plenty of room in the cupboard next to the mini fridge! I Want to do a special shout out to the server Rachel. She was awesome, working breakfast and then in the afternoon at El Charro. She is an invaluable employee!
On New Years Eve Day, the weather was cold and rain/snow. We had been out to lunch and afterward we returned to the hotel bar to watch the CFP games. Places were filling up with people to watch the games, so we figured we would go back and stay at hotel bar and watch games till our dinner reservations @8:00PM. We were two couples and after about 3 hours, I had 2 beers and an Irish Coffee as did my friend. The girls had 2 drinks each. The bar was only about 1/2 full. The chairs in front of fireplace became available so we were going to move to them and still see the games. We asked (another waitress as ours apparently had left and not told us) about getting another drink and did we need to close the tab as we were changing locations. At this time, we were told that you’re only allowed THREE drinks each in the hotel common areas. We asked why and were told that those were “the rules”! There were bar rules posted on the wall and this was not one of them. She got the bar manager Trinidad and he said that was a rule. We asked about getting a copy or memo making this rule and he could not find one. We didn’t believe him and he got the hotel manager Sam to come see us. Sam had checked us in and had encouraged us to visit the bar and failed to mention this? He also said that customers weren’t supposed to stay in the bar more than an hour, but we were welcome to go to our rooms and order a drink from room service. We did nothing wrong and were told we did nothing wrong, but we had to leave the bar area. With 2+ hours before dinner pick up and 2nd CFP game underway on NYE, we knew we wouldn’t find a spot anywhere since it was now raining steady. Basically, Sam ruined our plans for the day/evening and really didn’t care! Even Sam couldn’t produce a copy of “the rules”, so I’m assuming they don’t really exist? It’s pretty evident, he’s a control freak and COVID rules have gone to his head! When we were checking in, he was being berated by an irate customer and this is possibly why? Sam is not good for business at this hotel.…
