Just down Cerrillos Road - that is, old Route 66 - lies El Rey Court, an iconic adobe roadside motor court. First built in 1936, this inspiring 86-room adobe inn has been renovated + reimagined into a modern travelers oasis, while retaining the original spirit of adventure + discovery from its early days. Set on five acres of sprawling old-growth gardens, El Rey is a laid back come-as-you-are type of place where everyone is a friend. You’ll find we provide not only a comfortable bed to rest your nomadic head, but some inspiring new design details, noteworthy modern amenities, a beautiful onsite bar open daily 5pm-11pm, our Swim Club, multiple green spaces for relaxing, curated + original art throughout the space, a comfortable lobby with a fireplace + record player and, on occasion, happenings in the realms of art, music and Santa Fe culture on our outdoor lawn. Come on down to El Rey Court and let us be your trail guide to a perfectly different type of Santa Fe experience.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this motel. Friendly staff, good heater and good coffee! The motel is older but the rooms have been refurbished with a fun vibe. We enjoyed the extra space the room offered. Beds were cozy and comfortable. We will stay here again!

Has the feel & look of a boutique motel but is actually quite big w many units. There is a central courtyard w a fire pit and picnic benches as well as a random freestanding “dining room” thingy. We didn’t get to use the spa but appreciated the big bathroom in our room. The room itself was also spacious w Spanish tile floor and cute, though we could have used more power outlets. The property is on a busy thoroughfare so asking for a room in the back is probably a good idea. But the upside is proximity to everything! Great CO Bigelow toiletries!

Great stay as always! A quiet time around Santa Fe but the bar at the hotel (La Reina) was fun, great live music and fireplaces burning. Nice to sit in the lounge to get some work done, great staff and room.

El Rey felt as much like a lifestyle as it did a hotel. From the piñon fire burning in the lobby I felt like time slowed down and stretched out as I checked in. The rooms are gorgeous (and all super different so it’s worth multiple stays for the experience) and they have some of the friendliest staff I’ve experienced. Try the hotel bar, you won’t regret it!

One of the most stylish dog friendly places I've stayed at on my travels. A really nice property, our room was HUGE, front desk staff was friendly, located in a good location. Would recommend to anyone but especially to people who travel with their pups!
