Recently stayed at The Menger for 3 nights and wow. From the minute we entered the foyer it was amazing, the front desk were very friendly and helpful and so was the valet. Our room was on the 3rd floor (i think the most haunted one) and the room itself was really nice. The furnishings were just what we expected,...

A beautiful hotel, recently updated with a gorgeous and clean, well-kept pool area. I love the history and the location, while not on the river, is tops - directly across the street from the Alamo. I love the bar, and Haagen Das is just downstairs.

Coordinated with the front desk manager well ahead of time & he got us a beautiful room on the 3rd floor over the front entrance with 2 balconies/king size bed/fruit basket!! The room was also in a quiet area with very little if any room to room noise! When we checked in the greeting at the front desk was "Happy...

Perfect location and beautiful, historic hotel located next door to the Alamo, River Center Mall and very, very close to River Walk! The beds are wonderful!!! The hotel itself has tons of history. It is beautifully kept and full of displays and artifacts from its long and colorful history. There are display cases of artifacts, uniforms, pictures and stories of...

We stayed here for a special weekend away and it was wonderful. The hotel is historically elegant. Our room (2026) was a moderate size, but was very clean with a view of the Spanish Courtyard through full-size (floor to ceiling) windows. High ceilings in the room (10'+) with a ceiling fan. Very, very nice.

We chose the Menger. For the location. It is directly across the street from the Alamo and a short block from Riverwalk. The valet/bellman service was extraordinary and well worth the cost. The hotel does not serve a free breakfast, so if you want one you will need to go elsewhere. The rooms are updated but lack as many electrical...

We stayed one night at the Menger Hotel will attending an exhibition. As a family of 4 we were placed in the Roy Rogers Suite which had 2 beds, a couch and two small tables. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable but the beds seemed small for Queen sizes. With a 14 and 12 year old, we did not...

Nice size rooms, and a great location right next to the Alamo and close to the river this was a great hotel to get you close to everything that was happening on the Riverwalk. A very pretty and historical building, it's known for being haunted so that was a neat treat. They have valet and on-site parking with in and...

Only giving three stars because of the perfect location. Access to everything. The rooms are VERY old and VERY VERY small. My boyfriend and I couldn't even walk past each other without bumping into each other or having to move to let the other pass. Other than the room size and extremely outdated furniture the hotel is beautiful and te...

The hotel is older with older decor and furniture but was clean and its staff was some of the friendliest and most helpful I've experienced. I should know having worked in hospitality in the past. The courtyard and pool areas to relax in were great too! We did not eat here so do not know the quality of the food.
