Room is nice, location is perfect and hotel is charming. Unfortunately, overall good impression was affected by poor service showing probably a lack of management: 1) You need to fight to have towels at the pool. 2) If you leave room after 11am, room is not cleaned and no one will either care or apologizes... 3) Corridors and especially stairs...

My wife and I stayed at the Menger Hotel earlier this week for a few days. It was wonderful! Great historic hotel, beautiful decor, and wonderful people. We ate in the Colonial Restaurant, in the hotel on two days for breakfast and one day for dinner. All was wonderful. Our dinner was the best, as we had a wonderful woman...

We had a wonderful time staying at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio! We had a few ghostly things happen, always in our room. #2103 The phone would ring and when we answered, it was a busy signal or no one was there. My daughter's side of the room was cooler than my side. I felt someone tap me on...

We have been coming for over 25 years. Great location on the Riverwalk. Room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a little small but we were near the historic part where rooms had been renovated since the 1800's. Be sure to order the Mango Ice Cream... a Menger tradition for 100+ years. Also try the Sunday breakfast buffet/brunch,...

Rooms look good. I like the old antique look but a few updates would be nice like USB ports in the lamps and clock radios that can blue tooth music into the speakers. Pillows are awful and way to soft. Dinner was excellent (Ribeye and baked potato) breakfast buffet is was too expensive. $20 for buffet is crazy.

Host Hotel for the Alamo 13.1. Fabulous! Its so cute and charming. Right in the middle of everything. I would stay here again if we make it back to San Antonio! its in walking distance to the river walk, many restaurants, and shops, and the Alamo is across the street! Does not get any better! We thought Valet parking would...

Beautiful historic hotel. Best location for the half marathon as the start line is just across the street. Downfalls of the hotel....horrible room lighting, very narrow shower that you fight with the shower curtain the entire time, and lobby has a musty smell. I know the building is old, but a few upgrades in those areas would be nice. But...

Staff was very friendly. Manuel, the waffle man is GREAT. I do not know the correct spelling of the female wait-staff, "Ardrelcelle" , she was very nice and friendly. Rooms are great, beds very comfortable. Rooms were not cookie-cutters, which made me want to check out other rooms. Hotel is in a GREAT location.

I looked forward to visiting the Menger Hotel. I was in San Antonio to run a half marathon so I received a discounted rate. The Menger Hotel is located literally next to the Alamo. It is a very old hotel and while the history is touted as a strong point, I felt that this was not deserved. Our room really...

If's the Menger. Any history buff should have it on their list of stays. And it's gorgeous with a gorgeous Kodak moment lobby. Rooms are great albeit basic. Front desk and valet service couldn't be better. The bar is a must visit for the historical aspect- where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. Suggestion: the antique store adjacent to the...
