One of the best RV Parks my wife and I have found. Plenty of wildlife, picnic tables and screened campfire enclosures ensure the safety of the forest and critters. Wife found an Armadillo under our Fleetwood Expedition one morning, Deer wandering every morning (They do like 1/2 apples) Birds of nearly every flavor. Great Management, work in progress to maintain and upgrade the park to ensure great stays. Walking trails abound but you have to share with nearly every type of wildlife. And the Chili cookoff was a great free dinner! Alamo and River Walk are a 15-minute drive away on good roads for the Touristy types.

Absolutely wonderful. Green lush campground with spacious sites. Quiet and clean. We were greeted with a great goody bag, my favorite thing being the coffee hard candy. When my hubby couldn’t back into site, his fault not the site’s fault, they moved us to pull through.

Campground was clean, quiet and nice. A lot of deer in the mornings to see on walks. Our dog loved the river. A lot of trails to walk or explore the area. We would recommend this campgrounds to anyone who needs to be down here for military graduation, or to just see the sites in the area.

I usually don’t post reviews like this but I needed to for this place! The website is outdated and is false advertising, they don’t over everything listed on the site. we stayed here before it changed ownership. The cabins are not what they used to be, the website is not accurate. Over price cabins and now they look like they are from 1990 theme, so outdated looks like they got the furniture right out of the dumpsters. The new California owners don’t care about the park everything is broken, worn out, workers walks around smoking marijuana and walks up to you and the smell from the bearded guy is disgusting who lives in a shack there on site. They turned this once beautiful park into a dump hippie ground.

Tent camped at The Point during the Thanksgiving holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was our first time here and we will definitely be back! No electricity but we really didn’t need it. Site does have water and a fire ring! (We love campfires and cooking over the fire.) Except for the railroad noise, which we were able to tune out, this was paradise! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were invited to the annual Thanksgiving potluck and felt very welcome! The food was really good and it was especially nice to have a Thanksgiving meal although we were away from home staying in a tent! Fished (no luck but it was still fishing!) and just relaxed in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The Porta Potties were the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Bathhouse was clean with plenty of hot water each time we used it. Overall, it was GREAT and we look forward to our next visit!!

Kids swam in the river and played in the kyayks. Easy access to get kyayks in & out. Dog park and play ground were great. If you have horses - they have trails and a horse motel! We will be back soon!

If you're like us and looking for a peaceful rv park, this one is all that. It was easy to travel to and from our daily excursions. You can hike down to the river and through the trees and if you are lucky like us you will see your first armadillo in the wild. A great day trip was to Gonzales. Beautiful town with big history and museum. We would definitely stay here again if passing through.

We recently bought a new travel trailer, and wanted to try it out close to home, so we booked this site for Memorial weekend. So far, we are not disappointed! RV site is pull through, and level. There is plenty of space between sites, and the staff is extremely friendly! Having our kids out today for a cook out, and I believe it will be very enjoyable. If you are passing through San Antonio, or even live here like we do, it is a very nice relaxing place, with clean facilities. I believe we will be back for nice weekend "get out of the city" adventures! Matt & Liz Ellinger

Everybody here os very nice and helpful. The park is clean. Restrooms and laundry are kept clean. The downsides are the dogs next door they have some sort of rescue which I was told they have close to 80 dogs. I guess they say they are there agai st the law. At any given night you can hear them. Non stop. And all times of day and night. And trains trains. I may be some times a light sleeper. But the dogs are beyond. We also had a generator and our Yeti stolen in the middle of the day. So dont leave anything in the back of your truck. It is gated and they do use video sur eilance. Unfortunate for us the plates were not readable. The lower property by the river is beautiful and the deer love it there. We stayed here because it was close to the jobsite. We would say it is a good place. Just dont leave anything in the back of your vebicle. And bring earplugs.

I have been bringing my family and scout groups here since 2005. I make it a point to visit this camp annually. The river side campsites are gorgeous and extremely shady. There are a lot of things to do at this campsite. Plenty of animals to observe here in natural habitats. Charlie and his staff are helpful. He always wants to share stories with campers and loves having scout groups. He is an Eagle Scout. He offers scout groups great discounts. The river is cool year round and you can always catch fish here. You will not be disappointed. Alamo RV resort is truly a jewel in San Antonio. You are 15 minutes from downtown but yet you fell like your in the middle of nowhere. You will not be disappointed at Alamo RV Resort.

"Camp sites down below the hill tend to be a bit more grasssy & soggy if it rains. They do, however have a LOT more shade! Bring bug spray & sunscreen!"
