If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, with modern amenities, then do not stay here. But if you appreciate true history, and urban life or noise doesn't bother you, then this IS the place to stay. Built in 1919 and most things,( including the rooms contents) are from back then, way cool. And the history around this...

The Congress Hotel never disappoints. From the beautifully decorated vintage style rooms through the well-stocked friendly bars ("Lobby" and "Tap") to the great-for-breakfast/lunch/dinner "Cup" restaurant, every visit is a treat, if not a party. On this stay we spent one night so we'd be fresh and ready for our 6.30 am-train departure from the Amtrak station opposite the hotel to...

The wife and I went for Saturday breakfast with another couple (friends). The property is located in the old part of Tucson. Lots of history associated with it. Definitely has an old school look and feel. Waiting for our table, we were urged to order one of their "special" Bloody Mary's. There was only one bartender and no wait staff....

I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast. I will pass your feedback on to John. I apologize that the Bloody Mary bar and service was not up to either of our expectations. I will pass on your comments to the appropriate manager and look to improve our service.

Don't stay here if you want to get any sleep. Karaoke until 2 am can be expected on a weekend, but on a Monday night is ridiculous. Requested a room on the "quiet" side of hotel when reserving. Room was right above the bar/patio area.

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize that the room was not on the quiet side. We strive to let all of our guests know that we do not have any quiet rooms at all on any given night. We provide the downtown Tucson area with music 7 nights a week for your pleasure. I will take your comments...

This historic landmark here in Tucson, The Hotel Congress" is all that one can expect from a place filled with memories and literally ghosts from the past. Once stepping through the lovely entrance doors you will feel like you are in another time and place.

Stopped for a drink at a Dillinger hangout. Very Historic. After that went across the street and saw the train station with statues of Wyatt Erp and Doc Holliday. There is also a steam locomotive that was used in the movie Oklahoma.

Hospitable staff and quirky decor made for such a pleasant weekend stay. The breakfast was outstanding, as was the one cocktail I had after a long day traveling and checking out the local club scene. Couldn't validate my hotel parking ticket in the machine for some reason and didn't wish to park and walk back inside, so had to pay...

I had a problem with my reservation, I spoke with Abraham and he took great care of me. He was nice and patient, thank you Abraham.! I would like the rooms to be a little bigger, but I understand is a historic hotel so there's not much we can do about that. Either way, great place and very convenient if...

My son and I were traveling cross country and he read about the Congress...we had to stay since it was such a historic spot. We made sure we reserved a room in the historic side because we had heard about the noise from the night club. Beautiful period furnishings, love that there was NO TV in the room, great vibe...

I recently stayed at the Hotel Congress and loved my experience. I was warned about the noise from the traffic and from the bar downstairs, but I thought that just added to the adventure.(they do provide every room with earplugs!) Not only is the staff very knowledgeable and friendly, the history of the place is incredible. You also can't beat...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it's intentional - we strive to maintain the Hotel's original ambiance - from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. We have new upgrades for our guests, to ensure an amazing experience during your stay at Hotel Congress. *Bike Program - We now have bicycles that our guests are able to check out to explore Tucson during their stay! We recommended guests to bike the Santa Cruz River Trail, and the Train Trail behind Maynards Market and Kitchen. Let us help you explore Downtown Tucson in a new way! *Snacks from local vendors - Enjoy some treats from our local vendors. Every room has a tray filled with a variety of snacks that are available to purchase. We have: Cactus candy, Rbar Energy Bar, Spunlight Cotton Candy, Green Valley pecans, Essentia Ionized Water, POPPED Artisan Popcorn, Cerreta Candy Co., and the Kobito Hangover and Love Kits. *Guest Room Internet - We now provide super high speed wireless Internet in our guest rooms that is 10x faster than before! ... more   less
