Love hotels from movies and books, this place was in Dumb and Dumber, and was where Stephen King lived when he wrote The Shining. Really cool local history too, don't miss this hotel if you're in Estes!

It's a beautiful hotel. May need a little work! The hotel rooms are very small. I hit my head on the TV, and the wall by the bed. I'm 5'6! It's fun to do the tours. and learn about the history of the Stanley. We had a nice time, it's definitely a one night stay kind of place. Food and...

The hotel stay was awesome, every moment of our stay was wonderful. We were in #430, the view was awesome. Sure the room was very small, but also was very cozy, well maintained, stocked, and very comfortable. Honeymoon couples don't need a big room! Its an older hotel, yes, but the charm was ever bit present, and the history was...

We stayed in the main hotel, room 307, the weekend of 12/19/15. Could not turn the heat down since the thermostat didn't work. Called the desk and they sent a maintenance guy up who had to open a panel on the baseboard heating system and turn the hot water off. Then it finally cooled down about 4 hours later. Pedestal...

We stayed for a night for our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and has amazing history. We took a very entertaining ghost tour and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and furnished with character. Everything was wonderful except for the restaurant. The food was pricey, which would have been ok if the service was not so poor.

Check in was a breeze and we strolled through a beautifully decorated lobby and bar before heading to our room in The Lodge where we were greeted with a dozen roses. After a wonderful couples massage a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to our room. The bar was cozy with an amazing selection of beer, wine...

Honestly the hotel itself, the property, and THE VIEWS are beautiful. I compared it to another resort we almost booked and I'm so much happier with the location of the Stanley. I would probably stay here again just for the experience. We stayed in the lodge, which was nice because you get away from tourist traffic and have a small...

PROS: The staff were all very nice and helpful at the Stanley Lodge, which is the building next to the main hotel. Bed was comfortable and included breakfast very nice and pet friendly!! Décor in common areas very warm and welcoming. CONS: Queen room #2115 was so small there was not enough room to turn around. No where for two...

Trust me on this one, do NOT stay overnight, go for a drink, look around and then leave, you'll thank me! Was expecting a quiet, upscale and secluded resort, and got exactly the opposite of that. Points of concern: -Rooms are $200+/night but the hotel interior definitely is not up to that standard, see pictures for ripped carpet and stained...

This was suppose to be the highlight of our honeymoon. Instead, we were left wondering what in the world this hotel does with the amount of money they are given. Our visit started of nice, we had a wonderful time checking in and the staff was very helpful. We got to our room, and realized about 30 minutes later that...
