We had a terrific meal! I had the duck, the empanadas, and the chocolate brûlée dessert. Enjoyed everything. The history of the resort is very interesting. All the employees were very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend the restaurant for dinner. Also found pricing reasonable.

I ahve been staying at the crags for over 10 years now. Over the years, some of the bathrooms have been updated but the rooms in general seem to be needing updating. The main lobby/restaurant area is beautiful. Stay inside the lodge if you can. If you get there early, parking is no problem.. If you get there late, its... More

Traveling over 1,200 miles for a family member wedding was no easy feat but it was so worth it when we arrived at the beautiful lodge. Our "room" / suite was gorgeous and so comfortable for our 4 day stay. The staff was extremely helpful with all of the wedding arrangements and either every day needs. We would and will... More

My wife and I went to visit Rocky Mountain national Park and desired a rustic place near to the entrance with the feel of old days! We found it here. If you want modern this is not the place, if you want comfort, friendly staff and great views, this is the spot!!!! From the originally furnished lobby to the esoteric... More

A lovely, lovely place, but there are a few kinks that need ironing out. In particular, out booking was lost but the (admittedly nice) ladies at the front desk, requiring a lot of fiddling around to sort us out. There was no breakfast on offer, either, and the car park was full at night when we returned from dinner. Otherwise,... More

The hotel had a neat location with some deer hanging around. The room needed some serious updating. Green dirty carpet, if you opened front door all the way it would literally hit the ceiling fan, cable tv worked some of the time and no cleaning service. Definitely not 5 star - the true rustic experience. Its a so-so stay at... More

At Historic Crags at the Golden Eagle Resort, customer satisfaction is something that we take very seriously and would never compromise under any circumstances. This 102 year old resort is in the midst of a room renovation program that includes new TV’s in living rooms and all bedrooms, new case goods, carpeting and window treatments. As we are primarily a... More

A bit more rustic than I expected. There was no daily maid service, no A/C (which wasn't a problem even in July) and the décor? and building condition was rather basic and could have used some sprucing up. The first floor rooms were very exposed to the walkway and when you put down the blinds for privacy you shut off... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The lodge is ideally located in the heart of Estes Park on the north side of Prospect Mountain and only minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Breathtaking mountain views surround you making this the prefect location for your mountain wedding. The landscape of Rocky Mountain National Park is the steepest in the United States. Sixty mountain peaks over 12,000 feet high result in world-renown scenery and provide challenges for hikers and climbers. The extreme topography creates an amazing range of ecological zones within a short distance, similar to the changes that would be seen in a drive from Denver to northern Alaska. ... more   less
