Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a cabin for our family of 5; looking to spend time at the North Rim. The proximity was key, we wanted to stay for sunset and didn't want to be driving in the dark. The cabins were bare-boned with minimal furniture and essentials. Just coming in from a luxurious Vegas resort, you would think we would put our noses up, but it suited us just fine for a quick one night stay. It was clean and the beds were comfy. But it's not fancy at all, there is not much room to move around. Luckily it was just for showers then bedtime. The staff was beyond friendly and although we did not eat in the restaurant so cannot speak to the qualify of the food, it looked busy and well-staffed.

Arriving at the lodge, i was sad not to be in the Grand Canyon lodge but in the Kaibab Lodge at 30km from the north rim.
But this stay turned out as being a real good surprise !
We occupied 2 houses (1 for the adults, 1 for the 3 kids). The houses were very comfortable. The situation of the lodge is amazing ; in the middle of nature and very little trafic,
In the morning the elk are grazing in the meadow in front of your house... , at night you can hear coyote cry ... you are in the middle of the nature.
they serve breakfast and diner.
The food is ok, but classic entrees ; hamburger ... nothing different than in most menus in the part of the us.
I regretted that we had to leave ... we really recommend this place on the north rim.

With two in our party gluten free, it was wonderful to find our hotel restaurant had gluten free items. All of the pies are homemade and gluten free. The crust could have been baked a bit longer, but having cherry/ blackberry pie was pretty exciting when one is used to no dessert options. The puff pastry was amazing and gf. However, being filled with cream meant it was off limits to me. Maybe a non dairy cream in the middle option? But, those who could try it loved it! Do NOT try the gf pasta.. With so many delicious gf pasta options available now, it should not be difficult to boil a good pot of spaghetti or penne pasta. They did take the charge off of our bill. The sauce was very tasty but those noodles.... impossible to finish. The fresh vegetable of the day was ( canned) corn.
The lodge itself was quaint. The servers friendly.

After a long drive from Glen Canyon, we checked in at the Kaibab Lodge so late we would miss our reservation at the Grand Canyon Lodge restaurant. As the only alternative, decided to have dinner at the Kaibab Lodge. It was comically bad (or sad).

When we were seated there were only 3 other tables occupied - two other pairs and a table of 6. The table of 6 had clearly been waiting a while. After we ordered, we watched the table of 6 attempt to get someone’s attention for at least 15 minutes, despite their being at least 3 wait staff and someone who just poured water. At some point, all the wait staff simply hid in the kitchen. We could see them through the circular window, and they were all standing talking right by the door.

It took nearly 40 minutes to get our food. Our food was cold, and it was clear that our food had been sitting for a while, as they did not want to bring our food before the table of 6 had received their food. My hamburger was tiny, with a clear inch of bun visible all the way around the burger. My friend’s food was also pretty awful.
It took us at least 10 minutes to get someone to bring us the check.

Perhaps my favorite part was our waitress telling us when breakfast service started and she hoped to see us there. We had a good laugh about that back in our room.

My wife and I had spent the day at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and on our way back to Jacob Lake we decided to try dinner at the Kaibab Lodge. We were starving and just needed a quick simple dinner. The appetizer we had was great, but the dinner was not. Was cold, probably because they did not have enough help to move the food out to the tables fast enough. This is the only time we have eaten here so maybe it was just a bad night.
Trying to leave and pay our bill took almost as much time to order and get our meal (a little exaggerating). The counter where you pay is also where people check in for a room and there was a big line and the lady running it all was not going to be hurried!

It was convenient to our cabins on the property. People were great. Remember it is isolated so prices may reflect that. I felt for what we got and the price we paid it was very good. I have no complaints. I would like to stay at their cabins and eat there again. The people own a place at Hannagan Meadows, AZ, along 191 north of Clifton.

The location of this place is really ideal...it's a reasonable distance north of the North Rim, a beautiful setting. The lodge itself has a good ambience, could be a great gathering place. The restaurant...friendly staff but really high priced and not so good food, again such possibilities. And a couple of the staffers, especially the guy with the Celtics hat, really need to charge up their attitudes. Rooms, again, had possibilities but you will hear every footstep next door. They were clean, though, and well kept. We were overall very underwhelmed but, oh if someone cared enough! They're the only game in town outside the park...what a great opportunity!

We checked in about 8:30, and were still able to eat dinner, even though they closed at 9pm. Very fresh, and cooked to order. We also had breakfast the next morning after a trip out to cape royal and Angel's window. Breakfast was very good, and service also very good

Not much to choose from out here. We had a hamburger and salad. Beer is available. The service was friendly but slow. Be aware there is a split charge. The only other option is a store with a small selection of items.

We spent the night in one of the cabins. It is as close to roughing it as I care to get. The restaurant served good food and although the service was a bit slow it was very friendly and helpful. The creampuff was fresh. So fresh in fact it was still warm and caused the whip cream to liquefy. It tasted great though.
