While the Lodge is well appointed and pleasing by design and pet friendly, various features are in decay/dis-repair.
Staff were overall friendly and accommodating, however details concerning daily makeup/cleaning of room (multi-night booking) were lacking, and thus specific request for room cleaning was necessary. Desk representative indicated this was due to COVID.
Greatest concern was toward hygiene in room and with specific concern toward carpets... They were absolutely filthy. Owing to the fact our six year old is a dweller of the floor (playing with trucks/cars, critter friends), this was a major point of concern.
Required a second set of pajamas' prior to allowing child in bed.
Lastly, price is on the high side in consideration of amenities offered.

Unique decor and very friendly staff make this a great stop when traveling through Albuquerque. The Native American room decor and lobby are real plusses. Rooms could have been cleaner and they really oversell the complimentary evening drinks and breakfast. More focus on the room cleaning and skipping the below average breakfast would bump this up to a 4 stars.

Traveling through Albuquerque on the way to Phoenix. Spent the night @ Nativo Lodge on a special they ran for New Years. Stayed in an "artist", king room. Very comfortable and quiet. Desk personnel had some great suggestions for dinner. Room was painted with southwestern motif, -very interesting. Some area of the room lacked paint details (places on walls near floor the painter missed). Lighting was poor; lamps designed for two bulbs had only one low wattage bulb in them, making it a little difficult for us older folks to read. If I was staying longer than one night, I would ask the front desk personnel to supply better lighting. Other than that, we enjoyed our brief stay.

Stayed during the Balloon Fiesta so the price was high and we expected that, but we expected more out of Nativo based on the pictures on the internet. The first room we had looked nice but it was loud with the freeway right there on that side. The second room they gave us was on the not so noisy side but was still loud. The room had a chair with obvious bodily fluids on it which I requested be changed out for a clean chair. The bed did not have a bed mattress protector pad on it, it was just sheets right on top of the mattress without a bed mattress protector between the mattress and the sheets. The door lock did not work, which they had to fix. We stayed there 3 days had nothing on our door saying do not disturb and our garbage was not emptied once.

We would have went to another hotel but were not able to get a room anywhere else. I will not staying here ever again it felt gross and disgusting.

If the cleaning staff doesn't think that garbage should be emptied, or a mattress needs a mattress pad protector or obvious bodily fluids shampooed out then there is obvious cleaning management and or cleaning staffing issues.

I chose this hotel mainly because it is part of a group of very high end hotels in NM. I've stayed at several of the other properties and had high expectations for the Nativo Lodge. When we arrived there was a crowd at the front desk and the staff had people waiting on benches to be helped. We were told about the $20 daily fee that included local beers and that they would have to put a $50 charge on our credit card to cover things like theft of a hair dryer. I found that explanation a bit off. The room was okay but not as clean as I would expect. We got the two beers and they were opened for us so we had to consume them immediately. As others have stated, the hotel looks run down, it is dark and not very welcoming. It has a single pneumatic elevator that was painfully slow. Our floor's ice machine was gone and we had to go to other floors to get ice. The following day we got room service without requesting it (room service policy was never explained). They forgot to replace the bath towels. The shower gel in the shower was empty. The use the rack of gel, shampoo and conditioner. When we asked the front desk about this we were given a full sized bottle of shower gel as a fix. The rack was locked so we couldn't replace the empty bottle. On our third day our AC stopped working and they couldn't fix it so we had to change rooms. The new rooms drapes didn't close completely and had a mismatching panel added to the end of the run that looked bad and didn't block the light. The staff were not that helpful or courteous. House keeping services were mediocre at best. We probably should have changed hotels after the initial few mishaps. The owners of this hotel need to do some major renovations and need to train the staff better. This is not like the other Heritage Hotels, like the Inn at Loretto, Chaco, Eldorado, etc. I've stayed in cheaper hotels and received much better service. Heritage needs to step it up and fix this hotel if they are going to keep their name on it. I would not recommend staying here until Heritage updates the hotel and staff.

Our family booked 3 rooms for 3 nights. We reserved our rooms on booking.com. We were quoted a price and rec'd confirmation. When we checked out, there was a $20 "amenity fee" PER DAY tacked onto the bill. When I questioned the desk staff about it, they showed me what amenities I was supposedly receiving every day. We never had our room serviced on days 2 or 3, we never received additional water or "snack", we never received coffee refills (Keurig), creamers or sugars. No fresh towels, etc. The noise from the room next door was so bad we had to have our fan on high. Someone in the room below us was smoking weed on the balcony so we couldn't open the door or utilize the balcony. We were surprised to see a "working girl" going up in the elevator one afternoon. We asked the manager to call us back and never rec'd a call back. NOPE. NEVER again. We have family in Albuquerque and visit the City fairly frequently. The Nativo will never get our business again.

Booked hotel on web site and room was $96.78 per night plus tax. The reservation was a third party not the hotel desk. After booking the room for 2 nights was $193.56 plus $117.69 extra charges “DAMN”. Total was $311.25 for two nights. The room was ok but not for that price. When we checked out they charge $47.42 for extras like security, cleaning and the beer when welcomed. Live and learn will not stay again because of extra costs

We were disappointed with the service in the hotel. It took time to check in (more than 10 minutes); the person checking us in said he was very tired. We went to our room and there is no light switch at the door, so you enter a dark room not knowing where the lights are. Where we're from, this isn't to code. When we went downstairs to the bar area, where we had been told we could get pizza and small plates (like cheese, or humus), the man behind the bar took our order and then we didn't see him for 30 minutes. When we went up to ask about the order we were told by another employee that they had been out of food for a couple of hours. We ended up going to a fast food place. It was very unprofessional. We had also booked another night for the end of our visit. When I called to cancel it I was told that he wasn't able to cancel it (implying that he didn't know how). I had to call back the next day and it got cancelled. Also, we were charged twice for our one night stay. When we called we were taken care of right away and the refund showed on our credit card statement within 2 days.
The room and bed were comfortable, water pressure and hot water was good, and the Native American art was beautiful.

I stay at Nativo fairly frequently because it is very convenient to family. The place has always been a little quirky, but that has not mattered and really just been part of the charm.

This trip, however, was terrible. When I checked in I was put in a hot room with a non-working air conditioner and no phone. I went back to the desk and was told they switched to a text based concierge type system and it looks like they didn't sign me up, did I want to sign up? Um. Really?

The next room had great air conditioning but the beds were not made and all the towels had been used. I texted and was told that Housekeeping was gone for the day. At, now, 6:00.

The next room, on a different floor, was hot with no air conditioning, and I passed a housekeeping cart to get to it.

The fourth room had air conditioning and clean linen but it had taken 90 minutes to get there and I was late for a dinner appointment. No time to clean up after driving all day.

I was there for 3 nights and housekeeping did not clean or stop in once. I texted to ask for 2 sets of towels and got only towels, no wash cloths or face towels, and no text after that was answered for the duration of my stay. I had to get towels and toilet paper by going to the desk.

I didn't see a single Native American worker there, which I think is terrible, and I can only assume new manage of some sort. The problems I experienced were clearly management level problems and the workers have given up due to the futility of the conditions. For shame.

Your stay will probably be fine.

The hotel is nice. The decor is unique. The staff were friendly and had great personalities even when dealing with the minor issues other guests had. My son enjoyed the pool. I was happy to see they have a hot tub as well. Beds were comfortable and the place was quiet. It's close to restaurants, shopping, and the freeway. We had our dog with us. They had a doggie area with bags for cleanup, which is nice. The carpet in our room needs a good cleaning (or maybe replace with a non-carpet option), since it was stained. No other issues at all. .
