We stayed at the Sandia Peak for 3 nights as part of a roadtrip and were very pleased with our choice. The location was easy to find on Central AV SW (Route 66) and there was plentiful parking onsite outside the rooms. Check in was friendly and efficient and then across the car park to our room which was a good size with two double beds and all very clean and well appointed.

A great nights sleep without any disturbances throughout and each morning it was across to the breakfast area where they have a great continental breakfast selection to just help yourself, coffee, cereals, toast, bagels, etc.

A great stay and would highly recommend!!

Off the old Route 66. Love this place. Clean rooms, very clean bathrooms. Got the queen suite so I could stay on the ground floor. The bathroom had a curved shower rod and nice thick shower curtain and a heat lamp. Microwave and refrigerator.
The windows don't open in the rooms they are sealed shut perhaps for security, but the air conditioner works great.
High quality valet to place your luggage on, huge 70in large screen TV with plenty of satellite channels.
The lady who runs the place Kay is delightful, greets you with a good smile.
Plenty of parking.

Sandia Peak Inn is a good safe bet for your trip, especially considering it's price point. The very best part of the package is the people. Kamilla, the manager worked very hard to make everything just right for my stay, and because of the customer oriented perspective I extended my stay by a week instead of moving closer to my work. Her team was also very friendly and helpful. In all it very quickly felt like home. Thank you very much Sandia Peak!

Stopped here for the night on the way home from a family road trip. The woman at check-in was extremely friendly and helpful, and when she saw that we had two kids with us, offered an upgrade to a room with three queen beds for a VERY small fee. When we came back from dinner, she was weeding in the flower beds and came over to ask us how we are enjoying our stay and if everything is satisfactory. This motel isn’t fancy and the pool and breakfast were both closed due to COVID-19, but the room was very clean and the excellent customer service made it an enjoyable stay.

This is a cute motel with a charming owner. Her goal is to please her guests, and she has truly succeeded. Our room was super clean. We stayed at 4 motels during this trip (all priced around $70.00) and this one was the absolute best, by far. Breakfast (oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and coffee) is offered, plus there is coffee in the rooms. There is an indoor pool and a laundry room. Safe free parking, close to restaurants, and no street noise at all after 9 pm. If we pass through Albuquerque again we will definitely stay here!

We had a decent enough (not terrific, mind you, but decent enough) stay at this motel early on during our recent vacation that we opted to return for another night at the end of the vacation. There are both pluses and minuses to note about staying here, though.

On the plus side, the hotel is run by a warm, friendly proprietor who goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome. The rooms are clean, with a combination of updated features and 1950s/1960s-era roadside kitsch. This property has decorative elements to it that harken back to the days of Historic Route 66, giving it a memorable feel and quality that you won't often find nowadays. The hotel also has excellent wifi.

On the minus side, this property is located on a loud, busy road; and that loudness subsides only slightly later at night. Although one of our rooms was temperature-controlled well throughout our stay, the other room was consistently too warm or too cold. Finally, when the main proprietor is unavailable to help/greet customers, her replacement does NOT wear masks to keep guests safe from COVID. Also worth noting, proper enforcement of mask wearing was not in operation in the breakfast area, even among people who were not eating there at the time.

I appologise for your difficulty with the heat/AC unit. Thank you for letting us know. As we speak Maintnance is checking the unit. I also apologize for my not wearing my mask. I have been inoculated for quite some time for the safety of our guests and my family. (My husband is Immunosuppressed). But there is not a stamp on my forehead letting you know that. I am sorry my absent mindedness made you uncomfortable. Amanda General Manager

The Sandia Peak Inn (which is NOT on Sandia Peak but on Central Ave., old Route 66) is a great value. The room is modern, clean, and well-appointed. Bedding and decor are more typical of a more expensive hotel. The price of a basic king room is $69, far less than comparable hotels in this area. Kay, the owner/manager, is delightful, very much present and available to serve her guests. The only negative is that the road is quite noisy. Convenient to Old Town, 20 minutes from the airport.

Very nice, well maintained motel along Rt 66. A real value. I've stayed at motels charging much, much more, that were not near as nice.

My room was spotless, and looked like you were in a new motel. Everything updated, and a very comfortable bed. Microwave and fridge in the room.

Wifi worked great. Breakfast even included waffles and fresh fruit.

The property has a tall, tasteful iron fence around it, so, it had a very secure feeling to it. Unique, cool decorations.

If you have an electric vehicle, there is a charging station on site.

I will be back!

This old hotel on Route 66 in Albuquerque was more than we expected. We were traveling through and wanted to find somewhere a little off of I40 to stay. This place is a gem. The owner Kay and her husband have done a great job of renovating this hotel. It is super clean and has a great vibe. The owner is super sweet and gave us a great recommendation for dinner at a place down the street - Monte Carlo Liquors & Steakhouse. Jay Leno actually visited this place. Would definitely recommend this motel to anyone visiting or passing by. Definitely beats the regular hotels normally seen along the interstate. Very reasonably priced. Feels like you stepped back in time. Love it!

The motel is comfortable and clean. The location is along a busy road, so it is not quiet, even at night, as motorcycles roar by.
The bed is large, there is a refrigerator, microwave, tiny coffee machine, desk, side tables with lamps and outlets, TV, WiFi, a clothes hanging area, iron, and hair dryer. The only item missing is a safe. The bathtub/shower and toilet are in a closed off room. Outfittings are a little old but everything was in working order.
We didn’t get housekeeping even though we were there for 2 days, but that may have been due to the holiday. Also, there were only 3 pillows rather than four, a bit puzzling. Toiletries: shampoo and soap were provided.
Breakfast is included in the price. It isn’t fancy but there are choices and it is plentiful.

The owner, who made us waffles every morning and is super nice, had a family obligation and was looking for someone to run the place while she was away. (Don't quote me, maybe her daughter was having a baby or graduating college, something important like that.) If she did not find someone, she may have just closed for a month to go visit whoever she needed to visit. Just keep trying. Hopefully she'll be back before your visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Sandia Peak. Kay was very nice and most helpful with answering our questions about the area and where to eat. We would definitely stay here again. CLEAN Felt Safe. we had a king bed and found it very comfortable. I personally love the old style of this motel 100 to 1 over the multi level chain hotels that have zero ambience. Reminds me of traveling with my parents when I was a little girl.
