We were essentially looking for a fishing holiday with a bit of snorkeling and relaxing, something out of the ordinary as we rarely treat ourselves to a holiday - we'd loathe spending our time surrounded by hundreds of other tourists at a so-called 'popular' resort destination. Wilderness Lodge was everything and more than we hoped . Sadly, the time wasn't...

Staying at Wilderness Lodge was an experience like no other. It is truly as stunning as the website pictures, including the two large waterfront bungalows which are immaculate and beautifully carved throughout. Stuart, who took us out snorkelling one day, turned out to have been the artist who decorated the one we stayed in. Gatokae Island is home to many...

A short flight from Honiara, followed by an enjoyable two hour boat ride and you arrive at Wilderness Lodge. We had the only two bungalows which are both laid out very well containing two double beds with mosquito nets, indoor bathroom with toilet, kitchenette and couch. There is a thermos with hot water, tea and coffee available all day and...

Run by the local village, this Lodge will give you an unforgettable experience. Secluded, small and full of Solomon Island charm. We stayed in one of two bungalows set on the lagoon. The snorkeling is right on your doorstep, So is the Sunrise. The kitchen team made sure we never went hungry and it was great. We loved our stay. We...

The Wilderness lodge is a great experience for mind and soul. We have been in the beach bungalow. This is very big and clean. The food is good not a big choice but considering the place where we are even the variety is to be appreciated. There are 2 outdoor shower, no warm water, but in the end even the...

We had an awesome stay, we've been here twice and love the place. We paid our final bill via credit card and upon return they pushed the charge through twice. We contacted them only to be told they didn't want to know about it and we should lodge a complaint with our bank. Really really disappointing. Take plenty of cash...

If eco-tourism is important to you, consider this small property, which consists of two beautifully carved and constructed beach-front bungalows - and two (slightly less desirable rooms) attached to the main house. Wilderness Lodge is well-integrated into the surrounding village of Peava on the island of Gatokae, located in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. This means your sun-drenched...

It was such a pleasure to spend four nights at Wilderness Lodge! The location is perfect and the bungalow accommodation was beautiful and comfortable. We had to pinch ourselves - sitting on our own jetty watching the sunset. The staff were incredibly friendly and obliging, always happy to help or share a story. We were sad to say goodbye. The...

This place is AMAZING! My husband and I stayed at The Wilderness Lodge early September 2015. When searching for a travel destination we wanted something Island-y, relaxing, remote, naturally beautiful.. Oh.. and had to be somewhere we could spearfish! This place ticks all those boxes and more! All apart of the adventure was the tiny 8 seater plane ride (over...
