Absolutely stunning place run by incredibly friendly place - both Dietmar and Ange and all the staff. The bungalows were amazing, with little touches like fresh fangipani flowers on the bed, making the comfy beds, soft, fluffy towels, private outdoor deck and freshly baked cookies all the more special. Given it's a small island and the number of people allowed...

Hi Jennifer, we're happy to see that you have enjoyed your stay here at Lissenung. It's a shame that you were stuck in Wewak and your stay was cut short. You just have to visit us again on your next trip to PNG! All the best, Dietmar

Super resort on an idyllic tropical island. Palms, white sand beaches, dawns & sunsets. Very nice rooms well separated for privacy & well fitted out. Friendly staff and superb diving. Brilliant house reef for a complimentary afternoon dive. Boats, gear and guides very good indeed. I visited for a week and hope to return with the whole family one day!...

Hi Jonathan, thanks for the nice review. Happy to see that you have enjoyed the diving, but we knew that already since we couldn't keep you away from our House Reef ;) We look forward having you and your family up here again sometimes soon. Cheers, Dietmar

Lissenung is a beautifully laid out resort, with warm and friendly staff. The bungalows are well designed with fans and mosquito nets. Each bungalow is set away from its neighbour affording it privacy and tranquility. The meals were good and well portioned - guests were always asked if they wanted more to ensure no one went hungry. Breakfast was large:...

Dietmar and Ange were wonderful hosts and the resort generally runs like an imperceptible clock works. Diving is fantastic (see below), the food is great (served communally at nominal times indicated by a bell), and the accommodations superb, down to how the beds are made and spaces decorated with fresh flowers. Arrival is by a quick (20 min) boat ride...

Remote tropical island with very high relax factor, quiet and cosy. Visitors have to be aware of the difficulties involved in setting up a resort like this - there is no ATM machine, no rattling minibar in the rooms and the floor of the lounge and restaurant area is fine sand. Divers who thought they have seen it all, adventurers,...

Hi Cowryking, Many thanks for your lovely comments. We loved having you both stay with us, and hopefully, we'll see you again here one day. We've tried to tell the birds to be quiet until after 6.30am many times, but especially the crows just won't listen! Must be all males..... ;) Take care, Ange

The best part that stands out to me is the amazing location. A beautiful reef surrounds the small island that makes fora fun round the island dive and also great night diving. The dive sites we were taken to were also amazing. The wreck dives of planes and ships were another definite highlight! Cute little bungalows with great access to...

Hi JL, Thanks for your great comments. We loved having you guys all here at Lissenung. You are right, the ride to the island in the dark can be a bit scary if you are not used to it, but our drivers know it like the back of their hands. We are also working on getting a spotlight set up...

20 minutes boat ride from Kavieng will bring you to Lissenung Island. Small resort specializing in dives around the region. Ange and Dietmar run the place since 1996. Decent food. Good beaches and reefs for snorkelling for non divers. Perfect for a lazy day out. The must visit place in Kavieng, New Ireland.

In short: Paradise The extended version: From the moment we arrived in Lissenung, we wad fallen in love with the place. Hi Patrick & Chris, Thanks so much for the awesome comments. We loved having you guys, it's just been too short! Next time there is a triathlon in Oz, you have to come and visit again. And if Dietmar and I ever make it to NYC, we'll definitely let you know. Take care, Ange & The Gang

Been to Ange and Dietmar's place twice, at two different seasons spanning a few years and have seen different things on both visits. A world away from the other diving "resorts" in PNG...not even going to mention the other ones as they don't come close to this one. Yes, you can see different things under the water in those other...

Thank you so much for your awesome comments, guys! However, I have to say the other resorts in PNG are also very nice. You are absolutely right though, we don't do fussy and over the top, but relaxed and familiar. That tends to try to make our guests wishes happen a lot easier, we all have a lot more fun...

This was the most relaxing two days of my 8 months in PNG. The food was great, the company entertaining and the island was a wonderful haven of peace and tranquility.
