We just arrived after the hailstorm. Jonathan had been gardening and was as surprised as us it seems! We staid in the cottage, and we were the first guests of the season. The "no shoe policy" suited us just fine, coming from Sweden and all...but get thick socks for the cold floor if you are coming early in the season....

We stayed in Ribbonwood in January 2014 and still think about what a great time we had there. Jonathan and Julie made us at home before we even landed in New Zealand, setting up our glacier flight and providing lots of information about what to do. On arrival, in pouring rain, they escorted us in and then helped us find...

We had read so many wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor about Ribbonwood Retreat so we were looking forward to our stay and it certainly didn't disappoint, in fact was one of the best B&Bs we stayed in whilst we were in NZ. When we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, felt like a real home away from home...

We spent one night at Ribbonwood en route to Wanaka. The B&B is in a beautiful setting with views towards the glacier. Jonathan was very hospitable and slices of Julie's fruit cake on arrival was a nice touch. As we were the only guests we were offered the cottage behind the main house. This was a good choice. It has...

We were offered an upgrade to the cottage as were were the only guests staying. Cottage is an understatement as it is a beautifully equipped cabin with contemporary design and superb views towards the setting sun. Jo and Julie were very helpful and great to talk to and breakfast was taken in the main house and was excellent. Just to...

We stayed two nights on the top floor (two room plus a bath). We loved the rooms; we loved the breakfast; we loved the location; and we loved the hosts. Jo and Julie went out of their way to entertain us, give us tour advice, and accommodate our breakfast needs. The entire place was especially clean and well kept.

We stayed four nights at Ribbonwood retreat on a recent 5 week tour of New Zealand. The cottage is beautifully furnished and we loved the views from the decking. Breakfasts were excellent and set us up well for a day's walking. It was good to meet and chat with other guests over the breakfast table. Julie and Jo were the...
