The place is dated on the inside and does need some investment. Re-carpeting and a paint job would make a huge difference. But, it has character, it's not a grey coloured box like so many are. But it is what it is and you can't get better for the price. I judge accommodation on quality of sleep, cleanliness and staff....

We stayed here for one night on our way from Christchurch to Te Anau. Ideally we would have liked to stay at lake Tekapo or Twizel, but nothing was available there. It's a very old hotel and staff is trying to maintain it, but it surely needs an upgrade. It has restaurant offerring breakfast and dinner buffet, but better skipped...

Once was grand but now needs a compete refurb! The breakfast had no gluten free options aside from the fruit but we did appreciate the cook offering to make some poached eggs. Service friendly enough but for a place that is in a very unique location it could do with stepping out of the 1980's, either re-service or tidy up...

Beds are sinking - when you sleep 2 in a double you fall on each other. + the room was right above generator (?) system on left side of entrance. Ask to avoid these room on that side if you want to enjoy the birds singing noise and not a constant generator noise.

Everything about this hotel looked tired and dated ---the façade, the reception area, the rooms, the carpet, the curtains, the bed, the washbasin…. The room we got was quite spacious though with a double bed and a single bed. Even so, the facilities and furniture don’t look inviting. The wash basin in the room, which was stained and therefore a...

Room and decor was outdated, but clean. It was a Large room so I would have expected more than just a double bed. This made for a poor nights sleep. My husband and I are used to a king. No air conditioner but the windows opened. The food was average for the price. If you book through an App and...

The motel itself is pretty outdated but we only stayed for one night and it had everything we needed. The buffet for breaky and dinner was pretty good and the view from the dining room is great. The bed was also very soft but fine for us. We weren't expecting much and we didn't get anything luxurious but it worked...

We had a bad experience with the staff. We had paid for breakfast and arrived at 9.15 only to be told it closed at 9 even though food was out. In the room handbook it said it closed it 9.30. A staff member told us we couldn't eat and had to leave. We explained the book said 9.30 but she...

This place is an insult to any paying guest! I can't believe I actually stayed a night and paid for it. The room was extremely shabby with ugly worn shag-pile carpets, ugly bed spreads and curtains and a terrible mattress that slumps in the middle so badly my husband had to sleep on the extra single bed in the room....
