We stayed 3 days in the week before Xmas 2017 on our way to Northland for a 3 weeks holiday. Arriving in Auckland from Perth (WA) at 6 in the morning with a 5 hour time difference, I did not feel like driving a rental car too far up north on the first day. Mahurangi Olives, not much more than an hour's drive from Auckland, seemed perfect. And we enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms and facilities have been tastefully designed and equipped and Isabella and David are great hosts. Breakfasts were delicious. Olive oil, creams and soap and ceramics are staple products of their farming enterprise and we were shown around and told about everything, Thank you Isabella and David (and Oscar of course!).

We only booked here for one night as a convenient stop off point on our way to the Bay of Islands but we wished we had stayed longer as there is a lot to see and do in the area. The location of this boutique B and B is stunning with amazing views over the owners’ olive groves to the neighbouring vineyards beyond. The whole property has really been refurbished to the best possible taste - I was busy getting ideas for my own house. There are only 2 guest rooms which share a bathroom but if, as in our case, a single couple books then the 2nd room is not let out. However if you are travelling with family or good friends who do not mind sharing then it is ideal. Isabelle is the most amazing baker and we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast on the terrace with home made bread and savoury scones in addition to fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cooked breakfast etc etc Isabelle and husband David also run the olive grove so after breakfast we took a stroll around their estate and were then treated to an olive oil tasting. They have completely turned the business round in the 7 years since they have been there and it is now a highly respected and award winning producer of the finest olive oil and other olive products. I think it is the nicest place we stayed during our whole trip and we would definitely recommend anyone to add this into their itinerary.

Had a very interesting tour of the olive groves in a lovely setting. Impressed by the tidiness and cleanliness of the workshop and bottling area. The olive oil had an awesome taste. We sampled the Smooth and the Classic and ended up buying a flagon of the Classic.
Great way to while a way and hour or so and enjoy the countryside.
They do B&B in the summer but we didn't check this out.

We stayed here with some friends for a wedding and had the most excellent time. The olive grove is stunning, the rooms are beautifully appointed and I'm still dreaming about the breakfast that Isabella and Dave made each morning. We could not have asked for more lovely hosts. Definitely recommend!!

We stayed two nights for a wedding near Matakana and loved the Olive Grove. Isabella and her husband are marvellous hosts and we felt like friends. They showed us round and explained the olive harvest, letting us taste the olive oils. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Visited here in November and could not fault the accommodation. The olive grove tour was very informative and relaxed and I got to taste the locally grown olive oil from the trees I could see from the lounge. It was a lovely experience and would recommend.
