Amazing location and views were spectacular. Tricia and John were amazing hosts that were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was incredibly comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. Would most definitely recommend it and will be back.

A cosy retreat in Winter, with very welcoming hosts. Our room was very clean, warm, comfortable & inviting, with spectacular views. Excellent shower. Breakfast was superb. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks John & Tricia.

Tricia and John were welcoming hosts and an amazing team. Our room in their home for our 1 night stay was on the main floor, so no steps. The king bed mattress was amazing and the en-suite bathroom beautifully updated. The drive to their home was steeper than expected, but not uncommon by NZ standards. The view from their deck is spectacular, where we spent most of our time. The continental breakfast spread was better than expected with Juices, cereals, jams and fruits- lots of variety! Thanks, John. Warning: the hosts do smoke, although only outside, but if smoke is a real problem for you, don’t book.

Great price for the night, incredible views and excellent breakfast. Hosts were helpful and courteous. Room and bathroom were clean. No noise, very peaceful. Room was dated, especially the bathroom. One of the beds creaked incredibly loudly to the point it probably was disturbing the neighbouring room. The steep driveway was a bit of a mission, but in fairness it was well sealed and worth it for the view at the top.

My 3 little sons and I stayed here for one night as a little getaway. Very dated inside, and our "mezzanine" room was very cold. No heating. We were warned to keep the noise down, and then, shock of shocks, we go down to watch TV in the living room and the owner has an ashtray with cigarette butts in it, and smokes INSIDE THE HOUSE. I was stunned that someone would do this around my kids...and not warn me when I booked. The whole place stunk of cigarette smoke and we all woke up with headaches. Most definitely NOT suitable for children or anyone who doesn't smoke. Just horrible.
