My partner and I had the most lovely two night stay here. This is a beautiful property, complete with every amenity you could imagine. The grounds are truly stunning and the owners have turned this into a magical paradise. We live in NYC and this was a wonderful escape. I appreciated everything about this place. Couldn't recommend it more!!

We stayed the long weekend in the Hyams cottage. The grounds are huge with a good distance between each dwelling. Parking is ample for any vehicle with any trailer, no matter if you've got a boat, caravan, anything. With 7-8 dwellings on a huge setting, you are not going to be disturbed at any stage. The national park is just next door with no fence, allowing wildlife to enter the property unhindered. This cottage we were in had a smart TV, big sofa, Kingsize bed, spa, BBQ and functional kitchen. The house was cool even when it reached 30 degrees. The cottage does have aircon and a ceiling fan, but didn't use either.
The grounds also house a firepit and gazebo if you want to be more social and spend your time there with other couples. The reception area has a small library and games area with a cafe that can make coffee for your morning fix.
Husky is just a short drive away with all the facilities it offers. There is a large supermarket less than 10 mins away which also houses takeaway shops, newsagents etc.
Overall, we had a great stay and were so sad for the weekend to end. I'm sure we'll be back.

Dear Marcus, we sincerely appreciate your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay in Hyams cottage during the long weekend. We are glad to hear you had a wonderful experience, and we're thrilled to learn about it. Our spacious grounds and thoughtful distancing between dwellings provide the ideal setting for privacy and tranquility. It's great to hear that you found the cottage well-equipped with functional amenities and that it remained comfortable even during warmer weather. The communal areas such as the firepit, gazebo, and reception with a café always welcome guests for social interaction, and we're pleased to know you enjoyed these offerings. With Huskisson just a short drive away and easy access to essential facilities, we aim to provide both convenience and serenity. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to hosting you again in the future for more memorable getaways. Bay and Bush Reception Team

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Murrays Beach cottage, the cottage was immaculate, absolutely spotless and so very comfortable. We were welcomed with smiles from the reception staff and wine and a lovely note acknowledging our 30th Anniversary, absolutely unexpected and wonderful. We had everything we needed for a self contained stay but we chose to indulge in the dine in hampers for dinner and breakfast both nights and mornings. Wow! the food was incredible! and we had soo much to nibble on during the day with the home made jams and dips and sour bread. The Chef when she brought our seafood platter even reheated our crayfish on our stove and set it up for us which was just lovely. Such friendly staff telling us where the food had been sourced and how it had been made was really interesting and engaging. We would stay here again absolutely 10/10 for friendly service.

We felt the accomodation, especially the bathroom, was dated and in need of an upgrade to meet contemporary standards. The reception area is great but sadly the cottages (we were in Moona Moona and Hyams Beach) are dated and somewhat fusty. The wardrobes are tiny and there are dated jacuzzi baths in the bathrooms plus corner shower cubicles with tiny shower heads. We haven’t seen anything like that in years! The lighting throughout is in need of modernisation.
The grounds are rather scruffy, unkempt and unattractive. Appreciate it’s the countryside but still not up to 2025 traveller standards.
Reception and barista coffee service doesn’t open until 9.30am.This is far too late. should be 8.00am. No welcome drink on arrival. Just directions to cottage and get on with it!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed our reception area and appreciate your perspective on areas for improvement. Guest experience is at the heart of what we do, and we’re always looking for ways to enhance our offerings while maintaining the natural charm that makes Bay and Bush unique. Our cottages are designed to blend comfort with the beauty of the surrounding bushland, offering a peaceful escape immersed in nature. While some features reflect their original character, we are continuously working on upgrades to ensure our spaces remain welcoming and comfortable for our guests. Your insights are valuable, and we’ll certainly take them into account as we plan future improvements. Regarding the grounds, we embrace a natural, untamed aesthetic to preserve the native landscape and support local wildlife. However, we understand that expectations vary, and we appreciate your thoughts on how we can refine this balance. Our reception and coffee service hours are being refreshed this winter, and starting this September, we’ll be serving a continental breakfast and coffee from 7:30 AM. Your visit coincided with the beginning of our slower season, during which our café operates on reduced hours. We hope to welcome you again so you can experience our ongoing enhancements firsthand. Thank you again for your visit and for sharing your thoughts—they help us grow and evolve while staying true to the essence of Bay and Bush.

We paid over 1k in total for this accomodation and its quite average. You're expected to clean up after yourself which I wish I knew this before we booked because who wants to have to deal with this on holidays. The beds, oh dear. They are VERY hard. It's difficult to get a good nights rest and after 3 nights I'm looking forward to leaving. Feeling disappointed about that because the way its advertised is different to what is reality. It's also an expectation that you replace what you use plus in terms of oils and tea and coffee. So are we as guests supposed to go out of our way to get down to Coles and replace some oil because you can't? They also give "complimentary" wifi, don't know what that's about which runs out in like an hour or so, so in order to just find some places to eat there's no reception here. the staff are friendly and no complaints there, however they do the bare minimum and charge heaps. I don't think we'll be returning only because for this amount of money you just don't get anything really worth it.

Your feedback came as a bit of a shock considering the adjacent reviews. Our reception is open 7 days a week for all and any queries. We wish you had taken the time to come to us to address your concerns which could have been addressed straight away and made your stay more comfortable. The supplies on offer are complimentary and there is no need to replace them. Our team is there to replace them, should you run out while staying. Our beds are brand new and we are sorry to hear that they are not to your comfort level. Our past reviews show that the vast majority of our guests find them entirely satisfactory. Please note that we recently upgraded wifi and communication system to Starlink to match urban services. The expectation with regard to cleaning is to leave the cottage in a respectful manner. Should servicing during your stay be required, that can be arranged. As a boutique accommodation provider, the comfort and satisfaction of our guest is of utmost importance.

We spent 3 nights in the Callala Cottage (2 couples). The cottage offers enough space, but a separate additional small bathroom or toilet would be perfect. For 2 couples it’s inconvenient, the toilet and bathroom is only accessible through the main sleeping room! Quality of equipment was ok, all was clean. For a short stay perfect.

We were eagerly anticipating our stay at Bay and Bush while attending a milestone birthday in the area. Unfortunately, our plans were disrupted when our flight was cancelled due to the impending Cyclone Alfred. We could not drive South either as we needed to stay at home and prepare our home for the natural disaster. Disappointingly, Bay and Bush refused to issue a refund, leaving us out of pocket by $375 for an event we were unable to attend.

Dear Krystinw2025, We’re sorry to hear that your experience with us didn’t meet your expectations. As a small business, last-minute cancellations have a significant impact, and we do our best to be as fair and flexible as possible while balancing our ability to operate sustainably. As you booked through a third-party platform, we are also bound by their cancellation policies, which limit the options available to us. Despite this, we made an exception to refund half of your stay or offered a full credit for a future visit. We genuinely hoped this would be a helpful solution, but we understand that it may not have been what you were looking for. For future travels, we always recommend considering travel insurance, which is sometimes included with credit card purchases, as it can provide additional protection in unexpected situations. We truly value all our guests and regret that this situation didn’t work out as hoped. Should you wish to visit in the future, we would love the opportunity to provide you with the experience we take pride in delivering. Wishing you all the best,

Myself and 3 girl friends just got back from a long weekend at Callala cottage in Bay and Bush. I could not recommend it more. We had the best nights sleep in the most comfortable beds and the cottage had everything we need from a bbq to blankets and delicious breakfast supplies for the first morning. The staff were extremely helpful and have us recommendations of things to see in the local area. We loved the grounds around the cottage which had a bonfire, lounging areas, table tennis and more!

It was clean, relaxing and nature was surrounding the location which was evident with wild animals such as kangaroos, visible depending on the times. We ordered bbq and breakfast packages which were all present when we arrived at the cottage. The packages were great. Flo was also quite fast in solving problems when there was a problem at the cottage even at night, she sent someone to fix the problem. I would recommend others for this wonderful holiday spot for short or long stays.

My husband and I stayed at the Bay and Bush Cottages after our wedding last month.
The location is great! - It was so lovely, relaxing and peaceful. The staff really went out of their way to make our stay special (especially after our wedding). They left us a lovely note and the breakfast hamper was amazing!
We stayed in the Moona Moona cottage, which was located in a really nice spot and was nice and spacious. We had everything we needed (aircon/tv/spa bath/kitchen/comfy bed etc) and it was perfectly clean, tidy and modern. Booking was super easy and checking in and out was a breeze (we were running late for office hours and they simply sent a text message with all the info which was great!). We would highly recommend staying at Bay and Bush and can’t wait to go back :)
