Spent 4 nights and 5 days at La Selva. One of the first, if not the first Eco Lodge in the area. Wonderful staff and guides a mixture of local indigenous guides and expert naturalist guides. Sergio (indigenous guide) and Daniel King (expert naturalist Guide) were brilliant. Saw so many birds, monkeys, all manner of flora and fauna that we...

Dear Imelda, Thank you so much for your review! It’s always nice to hear from our guests, especially when they’ve had such a great time. All of our guides are brilliantly skilled and are eager to demonstrate all the wonderful things to be seen in the jungle. We’ll be looking forward to your return with open arms! Until then, take...

Stayed here as part of our honeymoon. Location is incredible (it is effectively a 2 and a half hour motorised boat, and another hour paddle canoe ride away from civilisation!). Rooms were far more comfortable than you would expect for somewhere so remote. Very humid but ceiling fan above our bed helped. Jungle is loud at night (there are no...

Our experience at La Selva was once in a iife time . We so so much exciting wildlife including the rarely seen woolly monkey, a boa constrictor capturing a bird, a "bushmaster" poisonous snake and many other varieties of monkeys, birds and reptiles. The lodge is in a remote but beautiful location. The accommodations are comfortable, the food was exceptional...

We spent three nights here and were reluctant to leave. Everything was excellent. The journey from Coca was quite long but interesting and the approach to the lodge from the Amazon, along a winding canal and across a lake a great introduction. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodation was very attractive and comfortable and blended well with the...

This lodge has been recently remodeled and converted from a birding haven to a general ecotourist attraction. Changes to the ecosystem, such as damming a portion of the creek to create a winding canal reminiscent of a Disneyland ride, have had a negative impact on the bird life. Time will tell if it recovers. La Selva excels in planning activities...

We typically stay in backpacker accommodations, so this place was a treat for us! We spent three nights at La Selva. The transportation, while a little time-consuming from Quito, is very well coordinated and definitely worthwhile in order to be so deep into the rainforest. After transportation, we had about two and a half days at the lodge; this felt...

We were brought here through our tour company (we also did a Galapagos trip before this). I was leary at trusting a tour company to book a nice place in the middle of the Amazon jungle! But we were soooo impressed (and relieved)...who'd have thought there would be this level of luxury in the middle of the Rainforest?! I have...

We had originally heard about La Selva as a premier birding destination; it now caters primarily to general-interest ecotourism, but it is still an excellent birding location. We booked a four-night stay, one night longer than what the majority of visitors book, and that allowed us to spend one full day birding with our two guides (a bilingual naturalist guide,...
