Dude. I went here for a $40 massage and was blown away. I hurt my neck doing yoga and was looking for a specialized massage to help with my neck, maybe even acupuncture. I scheduled a massage and wasn't expecting much but the masseuse blew me away. I asked for a surfers massage, which is only about 45 minutes but...

We spent a night here as part of an accommodation package provided by a tour company. What a funky and relaxing place. Although the level of accomodation may not meet the expectations of the fussy types for the adventurous types the place and especially its gardens are a real treat. Although we are not surfers we plan on returning to...

I can not recommend Balsa Surf Camp enough. "Rasty" and Julie are two of the most enthusiastic and genuine people I know. I took surf lessons from them, rent surfboards from them and eventually purchased a balsa board from Rasty. They are very community oriented and wonderful people. Whether you are staying at there hotel, taking surfing lessons, renting boards...

We booked the Honeymoon package just because it sounded nice and we were more than happy with this, in fact we ended up staying 3 extra days. The surf camp itself is located a 1 minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from town and is a little slice of tropical paradise to say the least. The staff are...

We spent 3 nights at Balsa and wish we could have stayed more. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were the best we have had in SA! We stayed in the Jama-Coaque room, it was spacious and had a deck with a double hammock which we loved. We also went through Balsa for surf lessons and board...

After two weeks birding in Ecuador, I just wanted a few days to really unwind. My wife is the birder and I'm the photographer. The Balsa Surf camp made us both very happy. The first thrill upon entering the camp is the beautiful, imaginative decor outside and inside each of the rooms in the camp. A real artist must have...

After more than 3 weeks I could definitely call Balsa Surf Camp my temporary 'home'. All people working at Balsa made my stay incredible. Everyone was very hospitable and passionate and after 3 weeks I really felt part of the family. The rooms are nice and the pressure of the shower is better than my own shower at home! In...
