My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend in this lovely place and had a great time. I dare say the cloud forest scenery could not have been more beautiful. The view from the terrace was something surreal like in the movie Jurassic Park, with a huge mountain rising up from the forest, adorned with 5 gorgeous waterfalls. With exotic... More

We spent two nights here and have been very happy to follow the tripadvisor recommendations. The setting is extremly nice, close to nature, with lots of little animals to be discovered, and it is what you can wish for if you want peace and quiet. The staff was very nice and helpfull, the room with own bathroom clean and cute.... More

We stayed at El Arbol for a week and it was one of the most memorable vacations we had in a long time. The bungalow we stayed in was a gem, beautifully made and beautifully located. Surrounded by the forest, it is very private and restful. Marylin and her husband were welcoming, helpful and discreet. They put us in touch... More

This hotel is several miles from the town of Mindo. You have to cross several small creeks and the road is very rough. The grounds are magnificent. There is a swimming pool and many chairs, benches and shelters to sit and watch the hummingbirds. There are fruit trees of various varieties throughout the property. The rooms are quite small but the... More

Thanks to previous reviews on TripAdvisor, we traveled out the bumpy road to El Abrazo to check it out and were amazed at the hidden paradise we discovered there. The lodge is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, open-aired, and incredibly comfortable. The family who owns the lodge is passionate about sharing how the building was created with sustainable materials and one of... More

“There is a thatched roof Yoga shelter, a chemical free, spring fed pool, a sauna and miles of trails to make an exquisite fitness center. The ambiance of the rooms, the decks and the gathering area make every room a prize. Views are phenomenal from any room and the sounds of silence are interrupted only by the sounds of birds and, at night, frogs.”

“One thing to keep in mind: The lodge has a "tree-house" feel to it and you can easily hear folks walking on floors above you so if you are a light sleeper or irritated by this kind of thing, I recommend requesting a room on the top floor.”
