Disappointed. Although only a 3 star, the new management really needs to start working on their skill at running an inn. Hard to believe that the restaurant and inn are run by the same family. Lobby should have some brochures advertising what goes on in the area.
Our first room (118) probably hasn't been updated since the 1970s. Dual aspect as the room juts out to the street, the window on one side had two curtains that closed, the other side had only one curtain which couldn't cover the entire window. Room hadn't been cleaned in some time, and when I took the syringes I found in the desk down to front desk, he didn't seem surprised.
Luckily the air conditioning didn't work, so they moved us to room 115. This room had recent updates, and looked more like the photo in the brochure.
Room was serviced daily to the point of putting in clean towels, cleaning the garbage pails, and leaving fresh coffee. Don't know if the floor was vacuumed, the beds were never made.
Add for them says breakfast available daily (most places nowadays includes breakfast). The restaurant only serves breakfast Saturday and Sunday.

The location is perfect within Liverpool. The ground floor rooms are easily accessible if you have difficulty climbing stairs. No problems with WiFi but the tv did not connect to the router. Front desk staff came to our room to try and reconnect the tv box but were unsuccessful. There was no followup from staff. The room was clean. The doors are made of solid wood and are a bit difficult to open and close, probably due to age and the wood swelling from humidity/rain (entrance to our room is not from within the Inn). Water was instantly hot in the shower. Restaurant and bar on site. During our stay we discovered, that for the most part there is no one at the front desk, if you have any difficulties, find staff at the bar and they can find someone to help you. There is an emergency number you can call after hours. Other than that, skip phoning the front desk and head straight to the bar for assistance. There are many business that are understaffed and Lane's is no exception, all you can do is be patient. In the summer there may be more staff available in the office.

Right at the mouth of the Mersey River, Lane's Privateer Hotel captures the atmosphere of this charming town. Rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant serves good food, and it is a short walk to Main Steet, the ligjthouse, the Hank Sniw Museum.

We were so looking forward to a night away and, having stayed here a few years ago, we were eager to return.
We enjoyed a meal at the Inn's restaurant although it was surprising that the restaurant and everything else in the Inn was being run by one young man.
Our room was not clean. The sheets and pillows looked as if they had not been changed after the previous guest, especially since there were spots of blood on the sheet. Only one of us was able to take a shower because the bathtub filled with water and would not drain. This was the case with the sink as well.
We did not call the front desk since the young man running the entire place, including the desk, was busy serving people in the restaurant.
We will not return to the Lane's Privateer Inn.

My husband and I spent the night of 8-4-22 at this motel. We were impressed at how clean and comfortable it was. There was a comfortable bed and nice pillows. A hearty breakfast was provided for motel guests even though their restaurant was closed to the public for breakfast.

The staff was very friendly, and the location was ideal for exploring Liverpool. However... this hotel is in desperate need of serious cleaning, repairs and upgrades. Our room was in disrepair with peeling wallpaper, clear water damage and stains on every piece of furniture. The sheets were stained, and there was no cover on the duvet. We couldn't keep windows open to help with the musty smell as there were no screens installed.

This hotel has so much potential, but as is, I cannot reccomend. The food in the restaurant however, very good:)

We booked Lane's for one night. Good email response time and easy to book. The Inn is "dated" and quite a maze of hallways, rooms, and additions. The room was a basic 2 standard beds, micro, and fridge. Clean and in need of TLC. We reserved for dinner but no need we were it for a Friday night. The food and service were good and I did enjoy the peace and quiet of an empty dining room...live entertainment every alternate Friday. The traffic noice was noticeable all night although we were at the back of the property. Coffee machine is provided in the room. NO breakfast service in the morning! You're on your own. The Bakery and Cafe are part of the Inn but do not open until 11:00am! I do wish that we had been told of these nuances ahead of time. For $110 we got our money's worth. Would I come back, ????

I was in Liverpool to meet with the owner of a lobster boat and do some art based on it. I was standing in their bookstore waiting for a text to confirm a meeting place, when I dropped my phone and broke it! The man working the front desk heard what happened and saw me frantic. Offered to let me use my SIM card in his phone for the day! Ultimately my SIM wasn't compatible so he went online to find the person I was supposed to be meeting with, contacted her on Facebook, and arranged the meeting place for me. In other words, when my plans were about to be totally derailed, the front desk guy saved the situation and didn't hesitate to offer to lend me his phone or do whatever else needed to help me. That was great :) I don't remember the man's name but if I find out I'll be sure to edit this review.

I only stayed one night, but found the rooms very cozy/clean, the bed comfortable, and a more unique atmosphere compared to the chain hotels. My only wish is that I'd gotten a chance to look at more books in their store before I broke my phone, haha. Would definitely stay again!

This is the first time we have visited lanes during our visit to Liverpool and we absolutely adored this place! Our server Rikka was very nice and a delight to speak with. The food was fresh and it came out so fast. During the short walk from the front door to the dining area 3 Stagg members asked of I needed help! Wow. It's a beautiful spot on the mersey River and after we ate we took a little stroll along the waters edge. Liverpool is a beautiful little town and lanes privateer is a lovely spot that will now make a part of out regular visit.
