Staying at Roger’s Bed & Breakfast was, by far, one of the highlights of our visit to Liverpool! Our cozy room had a postcard perfect view of the ocean and the breakfasts were delicious, but it was Roger’s warm and engaging personality that made our stay so memorable. Roger took time every morning to provide us with the weather report and detailed information on what to see and where to eat in the area. As an artist Roger has led a fascinating life and a tour of his studio, which is on the property, is a must!
We would highly recommend a stay at Roger’s Bed & Breakfast!

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay....we wanted to stay longer! Things we loved about the place: our own private deck and entrance, complete with patio table/umbrella and adirondack chairs, being surrounded by nature: bird watching from the deck (hummingbirds galore, cardinals etc), the view and the gardens. The room had everything you'd need - a clean well equipped private ensuite, comfortable beds, an overhead fan and windows that let in a cross breeze, comfortable chairs to relax. The breakfast trolley included a warm baguette, homemade black current jam, a selection of cheese, smoked salmon (delicious!), orange juice, seasonal fresh fruit, cereal and yogurt and a large carafe of coffee. We loved eating our breakfast out on the deck. Also very convenient - access to a microwave and a bar fridge in the shared hallway.

Also a great touch....when we arrived my husband and I were offered beer or wine. Most welcome after a day of hiking and beach hopping. We enjoyed our beverages on the deck in the late afternoon

Roger is a most genial host, full of great insider tips about the area. The piece de resistance was the lovely print of one of his watercolours which he gifted to us. Wonderful!

We stayed here for 1 night on our transit. Roger gave a very hospitable welcome. The room and bathroom are sufficiently large and you have a private terrace. You will be offered a drink upon arrival. Parking is free on site.
Breakfast is included and certainly sufficient, delivered on a trolley to the door of your room at an agreed time. You can have breakfast in your room or on your terrace when the weather is good.
Roger gives a lot of tips and information about the area.
The house has a beautiful garden with many birds.
It feels a bit like visiting your grandparents.

I loved my room that had a ensuite and it's own private deck which was surrounded by a beautiful garden and many beautiful birds. The room was clean and private. Every morning I was greeted warmly and pleasantly by Isolde with a magnificent breakfast trolly that had an assortment of amazing fresh local berries, a warm baguette, a pot of tea and much more. An added bonus that was provided was a printout daily of the local weather and a suggested itinerary of local events and spots to visit and take in. I truly appreciated this thoughtful touch. The very talented artist Roger Savage also gifted me with several postcards and a print that showcased his God given talent. I can't wait to go back! (My actual visit was August 2019)

My wife and I stayed there Saturday Night - we enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with a complimentary beer and glass of wine which was totally unexpected. The only complaint was that the bed was a little harder then I was use to, although my wife did not find it a problem. The breakfast was excellent especially sitting out on your private deck. The Hosts are top notch and after checking out Roger gave us a lovely gift of art.

Sadly, we were booked for one night only but would happily have stayed longer. It’s in a lovely location, our room was spacious, the beds comfortable and breakfast, brought to and served in our room, was excellent. Our hosts, Roger & Isolde, made us feel most welcome. We recommend the Gallery Guest House for a quiet break without hesitation!

The glass of wine was welcome after a long day of travel! Rooms were very clean. Loved the private balcony and watching all the birds fly in as they waited for Roger to feed them. Lovely property. The breakfast was amazing and the portions were generous. I would definitely stop in again.

I decided to take an overnight trip to the South Shore. I wanted to explore Lunenburg and environs and then see the 'other' side of the lahave river. I thought that Liverpool would be a good overnight place to stay and started looking for b&b's. I came across this one and was encouraged by the other reviews and their website. I called the owner (Roger) late morning on Saturday (he had room!) and told him my plans for the day before coming there. He quickly rearranged the plans, told me what to ignore and where to get to right away. He gave me the 'in's', and gave me a fantastic schedule for the next 9 hours: cafe's, bakeries, beaches and towns later, i showed up at sundown.

the room was modest but clean and complete. the bathroom has been totally renovated - is updated and the place is exceedingly clean (which I need!). the best for me was the location, private deck (adorable!) to eat at, the elegant and scrumptious breakfast and the hosts. They respect your privacy so that you can enjoy yourself and your space. Additionally, if you'd like a chat - there's Roger, welcoming you with a glass of wine, artist and travelling stories and fantastic details about where to go and discover (and got a GREAT inside scoop on one of the best and unknown (by us 'outsiders' :-) ) beaches in Nova Scotia. I also really appreciated the attached gallery and bought a beautiful print as a reminder of Nova Scotia. Much appreciated, and I would definitely visit again. Thanks Roger & Isolde!

Just came back from Nova Scotia. Spent a few great days in Halifax, then toured around southern shore. Found the Gallery Guest House in Liverpool. Excellent accommodations, right on ocean, breakfast is served on a trolley outside your door at a designated time - consisted of local smoked salmon, ham, fresh bread, bagels, cream cheese, homemade jam, cereal, coffee, juice, milk, 2 types of hard cheeses, & 2 fresh fruits. Private entrance, with private balcony overlooking ocean! The owner is an artist who has his gallery right on the premisis. Excellent hospitality, great food, beautiful area. Definately would stay there again.

The Gallery Guest House is amazing! Much of it has to do with the proprietor, Roger Savage. Roger is am amazing artist and his art studio is on the property. But the service is what sets the Gallery Guest House apart. The rooms are older but impeccably maintained, and each room has a private entrance. Breakfast is fantastic, and Roger goes out of his way to make your stay a memorable one. Go there if you can.
