We stayed in the Victoria Suite at Aunt Clara's Cottage which is across the street from the main Devereaux Shields location. Eleanor and Ron were truly gracious hosts who made us and our dog feel very welcome. Our suite was beautifully appointed with an incredibly comfortable bed and luxurious bedding. We had two days to enjoy the sights of Natchez...

Everything I had heard about southern hospitality was exemplified by our hosts, Ron & Eleanor. They love the area they live in and are very glad to give you tips on everything from where to eat to what to see and what not to miss. We stayed in Aunt Clara's cottage and enjoyed it so much. The bed was wonderfully...

We knew nothing about Natchez, but after a bit of research thought it'd be a nice place to visit to break up our Road Trip from Memphis to New Orleans. Devereaux Shields stood out when looking for a place to stay, but we never expected the room to be so nice, it's massive & with the large balcony overlooking the...

We needed to find a B&B that accepted dogs and Aunt Clara's cottage part of the Devereaux Shields House was a wonderful surprise. We arrive on New Years Eve around 6:30 without having made reservations for dinner. Our hosts got on the phone and arranged dinner for us at a local Bistro with live entertainment. I can begin to describe...

Just returned from reunion with cousins at Aunt Clara's Cottage. We took all four rooms and it was just what we were looking for. The hosts went out of the way-one night two cousins did not feel like going out and they made chicken soup for them. Loved it!

A warm welcome from Ron and Arlene made me feel right at home immediately. |The room was very comfortable and offered plenty of reading materials and historical depictions of the city of Natchez. The common area was stocked with candies, sodas and other delights to snack on while relaxing in the many public gathering spaces, porches and gardens. I would...

Ron and Eleanor treated us like we were their only guests; they were so attentive and at the same time gave us plenty of privacy. The Rose Suite was beautiful and clean, and the grounds were well kept. We enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to come back.

Understated elegance in a lovely Victorian home on a street filled with beauty. Breakfast did not disappoint. Wine and cheese served in the afternoon. Friendly staff. Gorgeous gardens and inviting porches. Highly recommend.
