The room was fine - no frills. The bed was comfortable, and getting a room in the back of the motel cut the freeway noise. Since it was just one night it was fine for our needs. Just don't expect anything but basic. We normally stay across the street at the Holiday Inn Express which has a pool, real breakfast and hiking paths - it's worth the extra money especially if you have children.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise for a last minute stay in a very pricey area. The room was clean, a/c was not noisy (a pet peeve), room was serviced each day (not always done nowadays), and the room was quiet. The room we had was a king and I don’t know what the configurations are in other rooms. Having the sink in the room and not in the bathroom would not be my favorite layout, but it worked out fine. The room would be perfect for one…small and compact with all necessary in-room amenities.
We would stay again if in the area.

Pros: Location was great! Close to SF, Muir Wood's and Sausalito. Budget friendly, bed was comfy, picked room towards the back to avoid highway noise, complimentary coffee, microwave and mini fridge.

Cons: no room service, remote control batteries and blow dryer were not working. Noisy AC unit.

While the flowers outside were pretty and the room inside was clean, in one of our two rooms the toilet messed up twice, we had no towels in one room and no wash cloths in the other . The linens were clean and room comfortable.

There was coffee in the front office starting at 7 but when one of our party went at 7, he was left outside the door for fifteen minutes waiting—in the rain and cold

When we checked out, each room had an additional $45 charge as “occupancy tax” that had not been quoted to me when I made the reservation two weeks prior. And no offer given other than stating that I (the customer) must be mistaken.

I should have insisted on the price in writing via email when making the reservation. Also, no offer of apology—since in her eyes she had nothing to apologize for! She had been quite rude on a few other occasions—we had reserved for 3 days

The best choice for us for 3 days considering location parking room and price was Muir Wood Lodge in Mill Valley.
The young man at the front desk was outstanding very nice and flexible with all we needed. We actually stayed one week he respect our original rate/day when booked online, he matched the price and allows to stay longer. The service ladies answered immediately to all our request.
Like extra towels or extra coffee etc
We felt very comfortable. We walked across the street to a good restaurant and another is just next to the hotel. The weather was horrible those days but as soon as in our room warm and safe we really enjoy this place.

This hotel was old, poorly maintained, and the guest service was non-existent. This area (close to Muir Woods/ Sausalito) is expensive for lodging, gas, and all dining. If I’m going to pay for a higher priced hotel, I would think the walls/tub/flooring would not be discolored or dirty. The bathroom did not have a nozzle on the shower, it only had a metal pipe sticking out of the wall (no way to shower and no desire to take a bath in the discolored tub). The room had a mini refrigerator, which nice, but it was dirty and had someone else’s leftovers in it.

My partner and I had to evacuate his mother from Pollock Pines. As we made our way back to the Bay Area, we stayed at the Best Western in Placerville, BW Sacramento, and an independent hotel in Novato that she didn’t like because it wasn’t a Best Western. We settled at the Corte Madera BW for 2 weeks, living with her in the hotel and working during the day since this is near where we live and she is unable to go up stairs to get into our home. It was stressful to leave her alone in the room. Motels/hotels will not clean a room if someone is there and Mama can’t go out without us. It was very challenging to deal with the trash from endless takeout, incontinence, dementia, non-disabled rooms.

However, the last two weeks of our adventure before we returned her to her home were made very special by Rosie and her family at Muir Woods Lodge. They had an accessible room for us and let us add days as needed. It was so helpful to not have to move Mama again! Since this hotel is run by a family, we got treated with so much extra care and understanding that simply can’t be guaranteed at a chain. I didn’t feel worried to leave Mama to go to work because I knew that Rosie and her staff were giving us the star treatment. I live a mile away but am looking for any excuse to return to Rosie and everyone at Muir Woods Lodge. They made what was a stressful time in our life into a family vacation full of happy memories and I can’t praise them enough.

I do not understand the recent excellent reviews of this place. I was shown a small old style motel room with a king bed jammed in... could barely walk around the bed. There were no plugs anywhere near the bed so my husband could not use his cpap ,achine. There was a small desk jammed in, but again, no accessible plugs so could not charge anything. . The only outlet we located was a single one in the bathroom.
We went to the front desk explaining we simply could not use the room. We were charged the one night cancellation fee as though we were “no shows”. I thought that was very inconsiderate. The website misrepresents the place. We paid a little more for the holiday inn express across the street, and it was like night and day.

Stayed two nights. I had some hesitation after reading previous reviews, however my stay was quite pleasant.
Convenient location to explore the Marin Headlands, Muir Woods National Park and Mt. Tamalpais. I requested a room at the back of the building on the second floor (I don't mind the stairs) and it was very quiet.
The room was small, but clean and attractive. Comfortable bed and pillows. Room amenities included fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Good lighting and sufficient number of power jacks.
Bathroom with everything in working order, plenty of shelf space. Standard toiletries. Good shower with excellent water pressure.
Complimentary wifi.
Easy parking.
Excellent value for the price paid.

Surprisingly clean and remodeled room. Especially for the price. I was worried about the noise of the main road as we were in the front, but the traffic gets very light at night. Bed was comfortable. Parking was also secure. Will stop here again when we visit the area. There’s quite a bike path across the street too. Goes for many miles.
