We would stay again if in the area.
Cons: no room service, remote control batteries and blow dryer were not working. Noisy AC unit.
There was coffee in the front office starting at 7 but when one of our party went at 7, he was left outside the door for fifteen minutes waiting—in the rain and cold
When we checked out, each room had an additional $45 charge as “occupancy tax” that had not been quoted to me when I made the reservation two weeks prior. And no offer given other than stating that I (the customer) must be mistaken.
I should have insisted on the price in writing via email when making the reservation. Also, no offer of apology—since in her eyes she had nothing to apologize for! She had been quite rude on a few other occasions—we had reserved for 3 days
The young man at the front desk was outstanding very nice and flexible with all we needed. We actually stayed one week he respect our original rate/day when booked online, he matched the price and allows to stay longer. The service ladies answered immediately to all our request.
Like extra towels or extra coffee etc
We felt very comfortable. We walked across the street to a good restaurant and another is just next to the hotel. The weather was horrible those days but as soon as in our room warm and safe we really enjoy this place.
However, the last two weeks of our adventure before we returned her to her home were made very special by Rosie and her family at Muir Woods Lodge. They had an accessible room for us and let us add days as needed. It was so helpful to not have to move Mama again! Since this hotel is run by a family, we got treated with so much extra care and understanding that simply can’t be guaranteed at a chain. I didn’t feel worried to leave Mama to go to work because I knew that Rosie and her staff were giving us the star treatment. I live a mile away but am looking for any excuse to return to Rosie and everyone at Muir Woods Lodge. They made what was a stressful time in our life into a family vacation full of happy memories and I can’t praise them enough.
We went to the front desk explaining we simply could not use the room. We were charged the one night cancellation fee as though we were “no shows”. I thought that was very inconsiderate. The website misrepresents the place. We paid a little more for the holiday inn express across the street, and it was like night and day.
Convenient location to explore the Marin Headlands, Muir Woods National Park and Mt. Tamalpais. I requested a room at the back of the building on the second floor (I don't mind the stairs) and it was very quiet.
The room was small, but clean and attractive. Comfortable bed and pillows. Room amenities included fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Good lighting and sufficient number of power jacks.
Bathroom with everything in working order, plenty of shelf space. Standard toiletries. Good shower with excellent water pressure.
Complimentary wifi.
Easy parking.
Excellent value for the price paid.
